        Mitochondrial Oxidative Phosphorylation Reserve Is Required for Hormone- and PPAR gamma Agonist-Induced Adipogenesis

        Adipocyte differentiation requires the coordinated activi-ties of several nuclear transcription factors. Recently, mitochondria biogenesis was reported to occur during adipocyte differentiation and following treatment with thiazolidinediones in vitro and in vivo. Crif1 is a transla-tional factor for mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) and is im-portant for transcription of the mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) complex. To investigate the role of OXPHOS in adipogenesis, we analyzed adipocyte differentiation following disruption of Crif1 in vitro and in vivo. The adipose-specific Crif1 knockout mouse had a lower body weight and less fat mass than wild-type mice. Furthermore, adipocytes were smaller and had a dysplastic morphology in the adipose-specific Crif1 knockout mouse. 3T3-L1 adipocytes or adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) that lacked Crif1 expressed lower levels of mtDNA-encoded OXPHOS subunits, and adipocyte differentiation was disrupted. Rosiglitazone treatment did not induce adipogenesis or mitochondria biogenesis in Crif1 knockout ADSCs. These results show that mitochondrial OXPHOS and Crif1 are required for rosiglitazone- and hormone-induced adipogenesis.

        The design should adapt itself to its new circumstances that continue to change and have to create the new conditions required by a man. It is the role and responsibility of design that establish new idea as a material object about the changing need of a man with the responsibilities for the culture and contribute to the human culture. The form of modeling in the product design, whatever use it may be, must be used for a man. The emphasis is primarily placed on a man from the design processing to the completed product of design. This means to change the invisible need of a man into a practical, aesthetic means as a visible form of material. This article positively analyzed the products of coffee maker in order to grope for their desirable forms after theoritically considered for the form of modeling. As a result of analysis, it was a big body which is ornamental rather than functional in the past, but increasingly, its structual form has changed into streamline or round form from a quadrangle, therefore increasing its sense of use and beauty. Its gribe and kettle were changed into soft curves from square styles. This design is made possible by developing its technology, and its style was developed by its simplification. As an object of analysis, the limits that coffee makers have that products lacked the manufacturings technologies except for a single function. Earlier products had the device to grind Won-du coffee into flour, but this device is removed to reduce the size of coffee pot, It is estimated as a merit of simplification but a function of the product is reduced. In this case, we have to buy another machine in order to grind the coffee into flour. Also, to exchange the filter whenever used is a problem to be settled. Technology, permanent or semipermanet, that can be used as a substitute for the filter mest be developed.

        상백피 추출물의 피부상재균에 대한 항균활성과 항산화 효과

        This study was performed to investigate the antioxidative activities and antimicrobial effect of Morus alba L. extracts against human skin pathogens. The antioxidant activities of extracts was used the method of DPPH radical and nitrite scavenging assay, total polyphenolics and flavonoid contents. The extracts were prepared by ethanol extraction method. Their antimicrobial activity against Propionibacterium acnes, Staphylococcus epidermidis, S. aureus, Pityrosporum ovale, Malassezia furfur, Candida albicans examined through the paper disc agar diffusion assay and minimum inhibitiory concentration(MIC). Among the 6 pathogens tested, the inhibition zones were more than 6 ㎜ in diameter against S. aureus, P. ovale, M. furfur and >5 ㎜ for S. epidermidis, P. acnes, C. albicans. MICs of human skin pathogens obtained by broth MIC dilution method were 12.5 ㎍/㎖ for S. epidermidis and 6.25 ㎍/㎖ for S. aureus, P. acnes, M. furfur and 3.1 ㎍/㎖ for P. ovale, C. albicans. The antioxidant activities of ethanol extracts of M. alba root bark were 71.85% in the DPPH assay at 400 ㎍/㎖. The contents of total phenolics(119.5 ㎍/㎖) and flavonoids(68.99 ㎍/㎖). Nitric oxide radical inhibition of showed 60.9% at 400 ㎍/㎖. These results confirmed that M. alba root bark has great potential the be a cosmeceutical ingredient with a natural antioxidant and antibiotics against human skin pathogens.

      • 용융탄산염 연료전지의 CFD를 이용한 수치모사

        The gas channels of the molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC) have been studied numerically. Distributions of pressure and gas compositions in the anode and the cathode gas channels were observed. The rate constant of the electrochemical reaction was deduced with the value of hydrogen usage. Calculations were made at the different values of the reaction rate constant and also at different sizes of gas channels. The commercial fluid dynamics program, Phoenics, was used. When the volumetric velocity is constant and the height of gas channel is changed, the changes of the CO2 concentration are big when the height of gas channel is thick. When the volumetric velocity is constant and the rates of generation and consumption are multiplied by 0.5, 1 and 2, the changes of the CO2 concentration are big when the rate of generation and consumption is big. On the other hand, when the linear velocity is constant, the changes of the CO2 concentration are big when the height of gas channel is thin.

        This article has argued in favor of eliminating the control module from the grammar. In place of subtheories specially designed to account for the distribution and interpretation of PRO, the present proposal has relied on movement to account for OC and on pro to account for NOC. The price paid for thus eliminating the PRO module has been to remove the last residues of D-Structure from the grammar and to dispense with the assumption that expression(or chains they head) are restricted to a single θ-role. Both departures from orthodoxy are required to permit movement from one θ-position to another-the minimum required if OC is to be analyzed as movement. Technically, this has also required treating θ-roles as features on predicates and θ-role assignment as a species of feature checking.

        선학초 에탄올 추출물의 미용기능성소재 개발을 위한 연구

        The development of a variety of cosmetic and beauty is being promoted as our understanding of the dermatology in differentiation of skin cells, the identification of aging, and the development of artificial skin cells, has advanced with the brilliant development of biotechnology. In this study, we examined the function of physiological act from outposts of Agrimonia pilosa extracted by ethanol. Electron donating ability was increased in proportion to the concentration of the antioxidant activity. When we measured polyphenols and flavonoids contents of Agrimonia pilosa , the result was respectively 105.1±1.5, 32.8±2.7 mg/ml. Cytotoxicity was not found under 50 μg/ml in concentration. The protective effect about damaged HaCaT cells by hydrogen peroxide increased in a dose dependent. And measuring anti-inflammatory activity , we could also know that NO production was significantly reduced within the concentration range. Thus, ethanol extract of Agrimonia pilosa was identified as a beauty functional material.

        안경원을 대상으로 한 경영관리 특성이 경영성과에미치는 영향 연구

        Purpose: We divide management characteristics into business strategy, operation management, information management, marketing, asset management. Also this will show effect on business performance according to management characteristics. Methods: For two months, from August to October, a manager (include an executive) participated in individual questionnaires. And the SPSS v14.0 was applied to analyze data of this study. Results: This study has shown that the management characteristics have an effect on the finance and satisfaction performance. In particular, the ‘business strategy’ and ‘marketing’ of management characteristics were important factors that affects finance performance and the ‘business strategy’, ‘marketing’ and ‘operation management’ were important factors that affects satisfaction performance. Conclusions: Consequently through this result, we should make an efforts to ‘business strategy’ and ‘marketing’ of management characteristics. 목적: 안경원을 운영하는데 있어 경영전략, 정보관리, 마케팅, 운영관리, 자금관리 등의 경영관리 특성이 안경원의경영성과에 미치는 영향을 알아보고 각 요인 중 중요요인과 경영관리 특성에 따른 비교분석을 통해 안경원 관리 및운영에 필요한 정보를 제공하고자 한다. 방법: 2011년 8월부터 10월까지 약 2개월 동안 안경원 관리자(경영자 포함)를대상으로 설문지를 배포하여 SPSS v 14.0 통계 패키지 프로그램을 활용하여 분석하였다. 결과: 안경원의 경영관리특성에 따라 재무성과 및 만족성과가 다르게 나타났으며 특히 안경원의 재무성과 향상에는 경영전략, 마케팅 특성이, 만족성과 향상에는 경영전략, 마케팅, 운영관리 특성이 가장 중요한 요인으로 나타났다. 결론: 이 결과에 따르면안경원 경영성과 향상을 위해서는 경영관리 특성 중 하위요인 중 경영전략, 마케팅 특성을 특히 고취시키기 위해노력해야 할 것이다.

        BLE 비콘과 컴퓨터비전을 적용한 스마트 버스 시스템

        본 논문에서는 비콘과 컴퓨터비전을 적용하여 대중교통 버스 결제 자동화 및 탑승 후의 버스 노선 정보, 실시간 위치 정보 제공, 하차 알람, 하차 벨 작동 자동화를 구현한 스마트 버스 시스템을 제안한다. 비콘을 이용하여 정류소에 근접하는 버스들을 인식하고 탑승하고자 하는 버스를 탑승하게 될 경우 비콘과의 거리와 비콘이 제공하는 정보 및 얼굴 비교를 이용하여 탑승 시 결제를 자동으로 처리한다. 결제 처리 후, 탑승한 버스의 노선 정보와 실시간 버스위치 정보를 사용자에게 제공하고 해당 정보를 이용하여 사용자가 알람을 설정하면 설정한 하차 정류소 이전 정류소를 버스가 출발할 시 알람이 작동시키고 버스의 하차 벨을 작동시키는 대중교통 버스의 전반적인 자동화 시스템을 구축하였다. In this paper, a smart bus system that automates public bus traffic payment by applying beacon and computer vision and provides bus route information, real-time location information, getting off alarm is proposed. By using the beacon to recognize busses near the stop and to board the bus to be boarded, this system automatically processes the payment when boarding by using the distance from the beacon and the information provided by the beacon and the face comparison. After the payment processing, the system provides the route information of the boarded bus and the real-time bus location information to the user, and when the user sets an alarm using these informations, the alarm is activated when the bus leaves the bus stop.
