Objective: There are chances of potential contamination in the water supply system of the naval ships because of the long deployed duty on the sea. We examined water quality of eight naval ships including two submarines to investigate potential water contamination. Method: Detailed water quality tests for 56 items were done for each ship in four separate times(random point, just after filling water tanks, after operating reverse osmosis water generator, water directly obtained from reverse osmosis generator). Results: Most of failed results were for microbiological tests, residual chloride, boron, and turbidity tests. Conclusion: Further investigation to identify contamination focus along the water supply system is needed for microbiological contamination and high turbidity. Reverse osmosis water generator should be maintained in a good condition to reduce boron concentration. Water chlorination needs to be done at regular interval to pasteurize bacteria and to keep residual chlorine level within the standard.
