To determine the consistency of the pulmonary vasoconstrictor response to arterial hypoxemia, 6 dogs were anesthetized, intubated, and ventilated for 15 minutes alternatively with air and 10% oxygen gas mixture including nitrous oxide. Catheters were placed in the pulmonary capillary wedge pressure (PCWP), and cardiac output (CO) and in the femoral artery for monitoring systemic blood pressure and arterial blood gases. Arterial Pco₂and pH were kept at steady levels throughout by ventilating the dogs with animal respirator so that only the isolated effect of hypoxemia on the pulmonary vasculature was studied. The results were as follows; 1. Mean value arterial pH, PaO₂and Pco₂was within range of 7.37±0.01~7.40±0.03, 47.83±1.17~51.67±0.08 mmHg, and 34.57±0.17~37.17±0.75 mmHg respectively throughout the experiment. 2. Pulmonary vascular resistance was also increased 82% at 1st exposure to arterial hypoxiemia and 121% at 6th one from basic value of 14.33±1.63 mmHg(P=0.0000) 3. Pulmonary vascular resistance was also increased 142% and 199% at 1st and 6th exposure to arterial hypoxemia from basic value of 329.68±23.89 dyne. sec. cm (P=0.0000) 4. There was no significant changes in CVP, PCWP, MAP, CO, and heart rate. With the above results the author recognized that PAP PVR was markedly increased when arterial hypoxemia occurred and agreed that the reason was probably the response of pulmonary vasculature to arterial hypoxemia.

We developed the shoes which is specially designed to decrease the leg's fatness during walking and to improve the body figure. The analysis of the gait cycle and the shoes gave changes at the swing phase. We examined the results to 30 girl students of Yeong Dong Junior College for 5 weeks from 27, October to 29, Nobember in 1996, and the results were also obtained in decrease of their thigh's size in circumference. The results of the analysis are as followings; 1) After experiment circumference of the right thigh was decreased 0.04cm in noncontrol group and significantly decreased 1.04 cm in control group(p<0.01). 2) After experiment circumference of the left thigh was decreased 0.27 cm in noncontrol group and significantly decreased 1.17cm in control group(p<0.01). 3) After experiment circumference of the right calf of the leg decreased 0.09 cm in noncontrol group and significantly decreased 0.54 cm in control group(p<0.01). 4) After experiment circumference of the left calf of the leg decreased 0.21 cm in noncontrol group and significantly decreased 0.47 cm in control group. 5) After experiment body weight were not changed significantly in both group. In these results, if the people want to exercise the analysis of fat in the thigh, put on the shoes which improves the body figure and do daily work, and it will be naturally decreased the fat in thigh and they will maintain the beauty lines of the legs. There weren't any changes in the body weight while the fat of thigh in circumsference was analysed and decreased. It means that because the weight of the fat is very light, there weren't any changes in body weight.

        김완식,김교상,박동호,전세웅,유희구,김인규,승익상,서정국,원중영 대한마취과학회 1986 Korean Journal of Anesthesiology Vol.19 No.5

The supine hypotensive syndrome occurs when the parturients near term in supine, enlarged uterus compresses the inferior vena cava and partially obstructs the lower aorta and venous return to the heart and arterial blood flow to the pelvic organs and lower extremities are decreased. Major supine hypotensive syndrome was defined as a fall greater than 30% or a value less than 80 mmHg in systolic blood pressure. Many studies in Western countries have reported that up to 50% of parturients near term develop signs of shock including fainting, nausea, vomiting, loss of consciousness or sudden death when they assume supine position. The hazards of obstructing the aorta by the gravid uterus in pregnancy are well documented. Compression of the aorta is not associated with maternal symptoms byt does cause arterial hypotension in the lower extremities and uterine arteries, so it can cause fetal distress and asphyxia. Most parturients are able to compensate for mild to moderate supine hypotensive syndrome by increase in collateral circulation via azygos venous system and vertebral venous system and peripheral resistance or heart rate. But the anesthesiologists must recognize the importance of the supine hypotensive syndrome and the potential hazard of anesthesia in augmenting its effects. We have investigated the incidence of supine hypotensive syndrome in 171 parturients were Cesarean sectioned. we have investigated the correlating factors such as fetal body weight and parturient's physical status, body weight and age among the 36 cases of decreased blood pressure in supine position and also we have investigated the relationship between blood pressure changes and parturient's associated diseases. We have measured the arterial blood pressure indirectly by the Riva-Rocci method when they are lying on the operating table in supine and compared it with arterial blood pressure in their comfortable position in ward. The results are as follows: 1) Among the 171 parturenits, the incidence of decreased arterial blood pressure in supine position was 21%(36cases). However the incidence of increased arterial blood pressure in supine position was 79%(135 cases). No case of severe blood pressure changes defined as a fall greater han 30% was noticed byt there was one case with less than 80mmHg in systolic blood pressure which would be a rate of 0.6%. 2) The relationship between decreased blood pressure in supine posction and fetal body weight and parturient's physical status, body weight and age was not statistically significant(P>0.05). 3) The relationship between decreased blood pressure in supine position and parturient's associated diseases especially preeclampsia or eclampsia was statistically significant(P<0.05).
