Provider's Mobility Supporting Proactive Neighbor Pushing Scheme in CCN

CCN(Content-Centric Network) enables users to retrieve content using the content's name. Researchers face critical challenges in terms of mobility. Since the routing information is part of the content name, when the provider moves, it is necessary to update all the routers routing information. However, this requires significant costs. In this paper, we propose PNPCCN(Proactive Neighbor Pushing CCN), considering the popularity and rarity of mobility support, for providers in CCN environments. Via simulation studies, we demonstrate that our solutions are effective in terms of shorter numbers of retransmitted Interest packets, and average download times and higher delivery ratios during mobility.

China has put a ban on the import of recycleable materials. The South Korean government has reinforced environment-related regulations including the Act on Resource Circulation and the Product Liability Act. Environment groups and local governments insist that producers should pay for the treatment costs of packing materials in manufacturing. This series of situation has eventually placed the burden of logistics costs on corporations in the package field and made them review rational measures to deal with them. This study set out to propose packing materials whose semi-permanent reuse would be possible to replace disposable packing materials including corrugated cardboards and Styrofoam, thus overcoming the environmental issues faced by the society and suggesting plans to reduce corporate logistics costs. The research scope was restricted to the distribution routes of home appliances from the central logistics center via local distribution centers to the delivery stage to customers. A model was developed in relation to the development of three cost types, which include product package costs, regular transportation and delivery costs, and collection or treatment costs of packing materials, between the case of using the old disposable packing materials and the one of using environment-friendly ones whose repetitive reuse would be possible. The numerical application and analysis results of the model developed by the alternative show that the costs were considerably reduced when environment-friendly packing materials were used compared with the disposable ones. The excellence of the study was demonstrated based on the conquest of environmental issues faced by the society, development of a model to promote the competitiveness of corporate logistics, and numerical analysis.
