This paper introduces a Spread Spectrum Clock (SSC) provided boost controller for Head-Lamp LED system. Generally, SSC is adopted to reduce Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), however it generates higher output voltage ripple as a sideeffect. This paper shows how to decrease the enhanced ripple by SSC using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) feedback control method which adopts proposed PWM duty ratio compensation circuit. It was implemented using 0.18um BCD process and simulation results show that it can improve the peak-to-peak value of output voltage ripple by approximately 60%. The proposed circuit is expected to contribute as a PMIC control technique for driving stable outputs while suppressing EMI noise effectively, making it suitable for automotive applications.

In this paper, the new implementation method of in-factory calibration for automotive rear view camera proposed. The proposed method consists of recognizing the grid patterns for deriving the center point coordinates of grid plates, extracting the coefficients of perspective matrix[1], reflecting the perspective matrix coefficient to the LUT which applied to the LDC(Lens Distortion Correction) and calibrating the image and parking guidelines error based on the applied LDC(Lens Distortion Correction) LUT. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method enable to correct image and parking guidelines error efficiently through auto-calibration.

In this paper, we present the development of BMS IC for improving diagnostic functions and battery cell management efficiency. The BMS IC improves battery cell management efficiency by using an individual channel ADC structure and a simultaneous cell balancing structure. Also it has strengthened the diagnostic functions through self-overcharge detection/protection and multi-chip fault detection using bidirectional communication. We have developed the BMS IC that contributes to the performance improvement of the battery management system, a key technology in the environment friendly era.

This paper proposes pole-zero tracking method applied to the capless internal regulator. When designing regulators using conventional fixed zeros, it is difficult to achieve consistent stability and response characteristics across a wide range of loads. The proposed method adjusts internal compensation networks in real-time by tracking pole-zero locations, resulting in improving phase margin and enhancing transient response. Simulation results show that a stability of regulator remains consistent under variable conditions and demonstrates a transient response that is 70% faster than traditional regulators. Therefore, it is useful for upholding stability in environments where dynamic loads occur frequently. The proposed circuit is designed using the SK key foundry 0.13μm process for automotive application.

In this paper, the new implementation method of Parking Guide Line based on Xiaolin Wu[1] algorithm proposed. The proposed method not only can implement high quality Parking Guide Line image but also lower scale integration than other method. This method consists of straight line that has a thickness and two anti-aliasing straight line in High-Definition image size. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method reduces the aliasing artifact and hardware resources.

This paper introduces an optimized multi-phase boost controller that can flexibly design the increased current capability of the intelligent front lighting system and meet enhanced functional safety requirements. The proposed IC is designed to operate as a 2-phase boost converter but stacking two IC’s can also function as a 4-phase boost converter, allowing it to cope with individual IC failures or head ramp system malfunctions through its built in Safety Mechanism. The stackable multi-phase boost controller employs peak current mode and can operate flexibly within a range of 100 kHz to 1 MHz, depending on the configurations. It was implemented using 0.18um BCD process and verified by simulation to drive up to 200 W in 4-phase mode. The proposed IC is expected to contribute as a key technology to the optimized development of IFS, as it can support to various current demands and safety requirements.
