This study investigates the effect of strain rate on the compression mechanical properties of 2024 aluminum matrix composites reinforced with 40 and 50 volume fraction SiC particles (SiCp/2024AL composites) under dynamic compression. A finite element analysis software ANSYS/LS-DYNA was used to perform this analysis. Axisymmetric unit cell model used as the FEM model, in which an elastic and homogeneously SiC particle was embedded inside a viscoplastic 2024AL matrix. At various increasing strain rates ranging from 1250 to 2500/s, the flow stress kept increasing for 40 vol. % SiCp/2024AL and showed increase-decrease tendency for 50 vol. % SiCp/2024AL. The composites displayed different deformation mechanism at various strain rates. Reference past papers, it illustrated that higher particle content composites and low particle content composites appeared different mechanical behavior. A comparison between the numerical and experimental data was made and several possible reasons including assumption used to discuss the small discrepancy. Results indicate that different particle volume fraction due to different deformation mechanisms.
Finite element analysis of strength enhancement of open-cell aluminum foam with hollow struts

The strength enhancement of open -cell aluminum foam with hollow struts has been studied through finite element method using three dimensional, periodic unit cells models for solid and hollow struts of open-cell aluminum foam under compressive uniform load. The stress behavior and deformation of these models has been analyzed at constant relative density. The results show that open-cell foam with hollow struts has better strength than the solid strut model. The simulated results are compared with other analytical published data and it shows good agreement.

??In this study, we have tried to estimate the degree of Industry trade and comparative advantage between Korea and China to analyze the effects of Korea-China FTA and to empirically investigate the relation between industrial specialization and trade volume through various comparative analysis model. As the results, we have found that industrial specialization has been strengthened between Korea and China after 1989 and that the trade volume between countries with the higher degree industrial specialization becomes larger. Also, the effect of industrial specialization on the trade volume is bigger in trade of differentiated goods than homogeneous goods. It means that with respect to explaining industrial specialization in Korea-China FTA, the competition will be intensified under the structure of horizontal division of laborin the industries of textiles and clothes, mechanics and electronics, transportation machineryl, also the effects of Korea-China FTA will be higher than other Asian FTAs
