Marginalized Korean Female sex worker in the context of Korean Minjung and Feminist Theology

Minjung and feminist theology play an pivotal role in exploring the experiences of the exploited Korean women, and most significant tasks for us is to liberate power, which frees oppressed Korean women from the many layers of cruelty and it helps them to let go of Han. Therefore, its transformative power heals Korean women to wholeness and enables them to rejoice their lives with other oppressed folks.

An Infant’s Sense of Self: Mahler’s and Kohut’s Approach

To understand an infant’s sense of self, one needs to analyze an infant’s world in terms of psychological positions. Talking about an infant’s development of self, it is important to observe an infant’s inner dynamic and struggle in terms of scientific way such as developmental process. I’m going to employ Mahler’s ‘separation-individuation process’ and Kohut’s ‘selfobject’ and his notion of ‘transmuting internalization’ to explore an infant’s world.

한부모가정 자녀를 위한 기독[목회]상담적 접근: 감정억압으로 인한 무력감을 중심으로

The purpose of this study is to explore single parent children’s feelings of helplessness due to the oppression of their emotions. Since we have increased divorce rates these days, many children who lost their father or mother are experiencing powerlessness and shame. Those who have used the oppression of their emotions as a defense mechanism for a long time, have a tendency to develop unknown feeling of helplessness. Such feeling of helplessness seriously influence the ability to express emotions, have relationships with others and find one’s way in the world. This research explores the oppression of one’s emotions through examining the case of a young female counselee. At the same time, I would like to examine the feelings of powerlessness in terms of a pastoral/theological approach, masochistic personality disorder and the self–psychological viewpoint. 본 연구는 한부모가정 자녀들이 가질 수 있는 감정억압으로 인한 무력감에 관한 연구이다. 이혼률의 증가와 더불어 한부모가정이 급증하고 있는 가운데, 한부모가정의 유년기 자녀들이 한쪽 부모의 부재로 인해서 겪는 수치심과 죄책감을 억압하게 되면서 발생하는 무력감에 관해서 살펴본다. 성인 내담자들 중에 한부모가정에서 자란 경우, 오랜 세월 동안 사용해온 감정억압이라는 방어기제로 인해서, 어느 순간 설명하기 힘든 무력감을 호소하는 경우를 보게 된다. 그러한 무력감은 내담자의 자기표현능력, 대인관계, 진로 등에 심각한 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 보인다. 본 연구는 한 내담자의 사례를 통해서 내담자가 경험한 감정억압의 상황을 살펴보면서, 감정억압으로 인해서 생겨난 무력감을 목회신학적 접근, 피학증적 성격 이해 그리고 자기심리학적 입장에서 살펴볼 것이다.

임상목회교육(Clinical Pastoral Education) 이야기: 환자 L을 중심으로

This paper explores the essence of pastoral counseling in terms of Paul Tillich’s Correlational method. This study shows the beginning of the research on relationship in relation with religion and psychology, revealing the patient L’s story during Korean War. Neither religion can resolve all those conflicts within human mind, nor psychology can restore all the inner problem of the human psyche. However, if we can have conversation between these two different variables: religion and psychology, believing the possible existing of resolution and question on both sides. Accordingly, we can have creative/mutual conversation between religion and psychology, this will entail the foundation of pastoral counseling in the future. 본 논문은 폴 틸리히의 상관관계 방법론과 심리치료적 이론들을 통해서임상목회교육(Clinical Pastoral Education) 현장에서 만난 환자L을 다루는내용이다. 논문 전반부에서 종교와 심리학의 상관관계를 논하면서 한국전에참전했던 환자L의 이야기가 등장한다. 종교도 심리학도 인간내면의 문제를모두 해결해 주는 것은 아니지만 본 논문은 종교와 심리학의 대화를 통해서얻는 통찰의 중요성을 보여주고 있다. 결국 종교와 심리학의 대화를 통해서상관관계 방법론은 종교와 심리 양쪽 모두에게 해답과 문제가 있는 상관성을 제시해 준다. 이러한 상관성은 앞으로 목회상담의 기초에 중요한 토대가된다고 이해할 수 있다.

청소년의 애도에 대한 목회상담적 접근

본 논문은 청소년의 애도에 관해서 상담적 관점과 신학적 접근을 통해 서 고찰하고자 한다. 최근에 발생한 세월호 참사에서 살아남은 청소년들 이 어떻게 애도가 가능한지를 질문하면서, 세 가지 입장에서 접근하고자 한다. 첫째, 자기심리학에서 청소년의 애도를 다룰지를 생각하면서, 무력 감으로 고통받는 내담자에게 실패했던 자기대상 경험을 현재의 일상에서 여러 대상들과 다양한 관계성을 통하여 재경험할 수 있는 가능성을 열어 주는 것을 생각해 볼 수 있다. 둘째, 생존한 학생들이 고통스런 감정을 억 압하고 숨길 때 겪는 무력감을 작용적 신학과 고백적 신학을 통해서 이해 한다면, 무력감의 근원이 되는 우상적 이미지를 벗어나서 새로운 관계를 추구할 수 있는 출발점을 찾을 수 있을 것이다. 마지막으로 피학성 성격조 직의 이해를 통해서 접근할 경우, 감정억압과 무력감을 지속시키는 비합 리적 신념을 내담자가 직면하고 노출하는 의식화 과정을 통해서 삶의 전 환점을 마련할 수 있을 것이다. This paper examines young adult's mourning through the counseling perspective and theological approach. Recently, due to the Sewol ferry disaster in Korea, surviving young adults' mourning is a critical question at this point. This study approaches this concern in terms of three theoretical positions as follows; first, Heinz Kohut's self psychology can be a good start for dealing with surviving young adult's mourning, suggesting the possibility of mourning through re-experiencing the diverse relationship by relating with many different selfobjects in daily lives. Secondly, if we can understand the difference between confessed theology and operational theology, we can truly escape from the idolatry located in operational theology and move into the healthy relationship and religion. Lastly, through the understanding of masochistic personality disorder, one can have life-changing experience by confronting irrational belief entailing emotional oppression and feeling of helplessness.

Analyzing han in terms of aggression theories and minjung theology

I believe Lorenz and Horney’s aggression theories and Minjung theology can make a great contribution inresolving the feeling of han, because both psychotherapeutic theory and theological assumption have evident benefits for han-ridden people. In addition, since both brilliant thoughts came from different backgrounds, they provide us various perspectives on the han-rid - den self. More than anything else, thanks to Lorenz and Horney’s viewpoint on the aggression (instinct and reaction), han-ridden people can have a bet- ter way of discharging their han and see a new world of real self-enhance- ment in the middle of han-ful status.

꿈치료와 신앙

The purpose of this study is to explain correlation between dream therapy and faith. Through the understanding of Freud and Jung’s ideas on dream therapy, I will analyze the similarities and differences between Freud’s etiological approach and Jung’s teleological viewpoint, finding Freud and Jung’s therapeutic insight. Accordingly, with the help of religious focus on dream, exploring the dream cases in the bible, I will prove the therapeutic possibilities of dream’s function and role, recognizing dream as the medium between divine presence and human. Therefore, I will explore the function of the transcendence of dream therapy and faith. 본 연구는 꿈치료와 신앙의 상관성을 설명한다. 프로이트와 융이 이해하는 꿈치료에 대한 설명을 통해서 프로이트의 원인론적인 접근과 융의 목적론적인 접근의 유사점과 차이점을 분석하고, 프로이트와 융이 주는 치료적 통찰을 살펴본다. 아울러, 꿈에 대한 신앙적 접근을 통해서 성서 안에 등장하는 꿈 사례를 살펴보고 절대자와 인간의 매개체로 등장하는 꿈의 역할과 기능을 보면서 그 치유가능성을 밝힌다. 아울러 꿈치료와 신앙이 주는 초월성의 가능성을 밝히고 치료적 가능성을 고찰한다.

Han (한) Phenomenon: Horney’s Theory and Jae Hoon Lee’s Psychoanalytic Perspective

In this paper, I would like to analyze the nature of han in terms of Horney’s theory and JaeHoon Lee’s psychoanalytical perspective. Han is a feeling of oppressed people in Korean society. This paper doesn’t reconcile some theories but brings about an understanding of more facets of han phenomenon.

Practical theology for the transformation of the Korean immigrant church

It is important to have an adaptive work for harmony between the unique Korean immigrant church and its U.S. context. Even though Korean immigrant churches have several conflicts, they need to keep doing adaptive work for the transformation. Korean immigrant churches have difficulty in adjusting and participating in U.S. community because of their focusing on theology of survival, but I think the adaptive work of Korean church begins with the theology of interdependence. Evidently, adaptive ministry stems from theological and biblical reflection members engender in the congregation. Both long term and short term adaptive solution need to be done in terms of global ministry. It is time for Korean churches have a broader perspective for the mission and its role in the states and whole world.
