N/A Background; Rate of bone loss should be increased after menopause and then formation coupled with resoprtion also be increased. Alendronate (Fosamax ;MSD, Rahway, NJ, USA), an antiresorptive drug known to be helpful to prevent bone loss. Alendronate is one of antiresorptive drug for treatment of osteoporosis and resulted in a decrease of bone turnover, There are no available data about Korean people, So, we wanted to determine the effects of alendronate in Korean postmenopausal osteoporosis patients after 1- year treatment Subjects and Methods; We studied 42 women with postmenopausal osteoporosis (bone mineral density[BMD] T score<2.5) who visited osteoporosis clinic in Samsung Cheil Hospital from Jan. 1999 to Apr. 2000, Subjects were stratified in 2 groups. Group 1 treated with alendronate 10mg/day and estrogen, and Group 2 treated with estrogen alone. BMD at the lumbar spine were measured at baseline and 1-year after treatment. We also measured serum marker of bone formation (total alkaline phosphatase[Alk]), and marker of bone resorption (deoxypyridinoline [DPYD]) from urine at baseline, 3months and I-year after treatment. Results; The mean differences in changes of markers after 3 months and 1 year of treatment were remarked significantly (3-Month; delta Alk:-28,7±3.6%, delta DPYD:-31.0±5,4% vs 1-Year; delta Alk:-32.2±3.1%, delta DPYD:-23.0±3.5%). Markers of bone metabolism showed no significant responses between two groups at 3 months and 1year after treatment, Also, Bone mineral density at lumbar spine was significantly increased in Group treated with alendronatc and estrogen than estrogen only group (9.6±0,7% vs 5.3±0.6%, P<0,001). Conclusion; Our data showed that using alendronate with estrogen to the patients of Korean women with osteoporosis increase bone mineral density more, So, we concluded that alendronate therapy with estrogen was helpful to manage postmenopausal osteoporosis patients.

수출 파트너십 형태의 비즈니스 모델인 수출 벤처는 창업 직후 자원이 부족한 신생기업들이 국제 경쟁에서 선택할 수 있는 전략 중에 하나이다. 최근 연구는 이러한 수출벤처가 대부분 직접 경험을 통해 확보할 수 있는 국제화에 관한 지식이 부족한 신생기업들에게 유용한 전략임을 제시했다. 그러나 이러한 수출벤처의 지속가능한 경쟁우위를 실증적으로 검증한 연구는 미비하 다. 본 연구는 수출벤처의 지속가능한 경쟁우위의 근간이 되는 요인들을 규명하는데 목적이 있다. 이러한 측면에서, 본 연구는 자원우위경쟁이론을 이론적 준거 틀로 삼아, 수출벤처의 자원들과 경쟁우위의 관련성을 설명하는 모형을 도출하고 한국 신생 수출기업을 대상으로 한 설문조사를 통해 확보한 자료를 실증적으로 분석하여 이 모형을 검증하였다. 수집된 자료는 구조방정식 분석의 한 형태인 부분최소자승법을 통해 분석되었다. 분석결과, 신생기업의 제조역량 및 파트 너십 역량과 파트너 기업의 수출역량은 수출벤처의 경쟁우위 확보에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 브랜드 인지도의 경쟁우위에 미치는 영향은 유의미하지 않은 것으로 검증되었다. 한편, 관계악화요인들인 수출벤처 참여기업 간 기회주의와 불기능적 갈등은 수출벤처의 경쟁우위 확보에 부정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 신생 기업의 국제화의 상황 에서 수출 파트너십의 중요성을 규명함으로써 국제경영과 전략경영 분야의 지식기반을 확충하 는데 기여할 것으로 예상된다. 본 논문은 연구결과의 이론적, 실무적 시사점을 제시함과 동시에 연구의 한계를 기반으로 향후 연구 방향을 제시함으로써 결론을 맺는다. An export-venture is one of the strategic options for a start-up firm that desires to compete internationally, especially when the firm’s resources are insufficient. Recent research has advocated that export-ventures are valuable strategies for start-up firms that suffer from limited resources such as knowledge of internationalization that can be acquired mostly from experiential learning. Few studies, however, have explained export ventures’ sustainable success. The authors aim to identify key drivers of export-venture success. Based heavily on the resource-advantage of competition, the authors theorize key relationships between export-ventures’ resources and competitive advantage. These relationships were tested using data from a survey of start-up firms in Korea. The data were analyzed using partial least square analysis. The structural model shows that export competence was positively related to export-venture competitive advantages. In contrast, the relationship between partner brands’ awareness and export-venture competitive advantages was insignificant. Manufacturing capability positively influences export-venture competitive advantage. Likewise, partnering experience positively influences export-venture competitive advantage. Nonetheless, the relationship-destroying factors negatively affect export-venture competitive advantage. The current study may contribute to knowledge extension of two research streams-international business and strategic management-by emphasizing the importance of export-partnerships in the context of start-up firms’ internationalization. This article is concluded with a discussion of further implications for theory and management and some directions of future research in addition to the limitations of the present research.

This paper dealt with numerical estimation of the pressure pulsation of the refrigerant in a suction pipe of the compressor. The behavior of the pressure pulsation was assumed to satisfy the wave equation. The boundary conditions and properties of refrigerant are necessary as input data of the simulation. The pulsating pressures at 15 points in a pipe were measured simultaneously from the pressure transducers. From the experimental data, the complex phase speed and impedance at the end of the pipe of the refrigerant were estimated using the signal processing and used as the input conditions of the numerical analysis. A commercial acoustic software was used to solve the behavior of pressure pulsation. The numerical results for the pressure pulsation in a pipe with and without expansion chamber were carried out and compared with those by experiments. Finally, numerical procedure to estimate the pressure pulsation in a pipe was established and verified.

This paper dealt with the active vibration isolation for a preliminary evaluation of the performance numerically. The vibration and noise generated by equipments are transmitted to the platform structures. The transmitted vibration causes negative influences on the life and reliability of the equipment and the structure due to breakage. The analytical model was established to be an equipment on a flexible beam. The analytical model consisted of the equipment as a source and the flexible beam as a receiver. The equipment is modeled with a rigid beam having a concentrated force. The equipment and the flexible beam are connected with springs at both ends of the equipment. The actuators (secondary source) are located slightly apart from the positions of the springs. And the controller was designed to minimize the vibration of the flexible beam (receiver) due to the force transmitted through the springs using the Wiener filter. For the control performance evaluation, the displacement at a point of the receiver structure and the total kinetic energy of the receiver were calculated. As a result, it is confirmed that the overall receiver displacement was reduced and the total kinetic energy of a receiver was 21.6 dB.
국제 브랜드 확장에 따른 가치 창출: 사건연구를 통한 실증분석을 중심으로

Purpose: Underpinning the belief that the stock return to a marketing strategy signifies the long-term financial performance, the author study attempted to identify the drivers of value creation following international brand extensions. Research design, data, and methodology: Using the resource-advantage theory of competition as an underlying framework, the author developed an empirically testable model that can explain and predict how firms should wisely international brand extensions. The model was tested with a comprehensive dataset drawn from various secondary data sources. Results: The findings of the study reveal both the significant effect of brand innovativeness and the moderating effects of brand diversification level, extension type, cultural distance, and market type on value creation. Conclusions: International marketers should extend brands with high innovativeness when both the level of brand diversification and the cultural distance between a brand’s origin and a target market are low. In addition, if brands with high innovativeness, the line extension is more successful than the category extension. Finally, a brand with high innovativeness is more successfully extended in developed markets than in emerging markets.
