이 연구는 새로운 대학 이념으로서 생태주의 대학 이념의 가능성과 의의를 밝히는 것을 목적으로 한다. 현재 고등교육을 지배하고 있는 신자유주의 대학 이념은 대학의 본질을 훼손하고 인식론적 불균형을 초래하며 공익적 역할을 하지 못한다는 비판을 받고 있다. 최근 논의되고 있는 생태주의 대학 이념은 신자유주의 대학 이념의 한계를 극복할 수 있는 새로운 대안으로 주목받고 있다. 생태주의 대학은 대학과 관련된 다양한 생태계와의 상호연관성을 증진하고 그들의 지속가능성, 잘삶, 개선에 기여하는 대학 이념이다. 생태주의 대학 이념은 대학이 맺고 있는 주체들과의 상호연관성 증진을 통해 대학의 본질을 회복하고, 총체적인 관점에서 대학의 인식론적 영역을 확대해 나갈 수 있다는 점에서 현재 대학의 이념적 한계를 극복하고 있다. 또한 복잡성으로 얽혀진 사회 주체와의 관계를 진지하게 고려하고, 세계 내의 형식적·비형식적 의사소통과정의 참여를 통해 다양한 관점과 공존을 허용한다는 점에서 사회적·시대적 맥락에 적합한 새로운 대학 이념으로 볼 수 있다. 이 같은 생태주의 대학 이념은 위기에 처한 오늘날의 대학에 다음과 같은 세 가지 시사점을 줄 수 있다. 첫째, 새로운 대학 이념의 형성 가능성 제공한다. 둘째, 인식론적 영역의 보존과 확장에 기여한다. 셋째, 대학의 공익적 성격을 강화한다. 생태주의 대학이념은 대학과 관련된 모든 생태계의 지속가능성과 잘삶을 증진함으로써 세계와의 공존을 지향한다는 점에서 ‘폐허’가 아닌 긍정적인 대학의 미래를 상상할 수 있게 한다. The purpose of this study is to identify the possibility and significance of ecological university as a new idea of a university. Within higher education neoliberalism has been criticized for its undermining the essence of the university, causing epistemological imbalance, and failing to play a public role. The ecological university being discussed recently is attracting attention as a new alternative to overcome the limits of the neoliberalism. The ecological university promotes university's interconnectedness with various ecosystems and contributes to their sustainability, well-being and improvement. It can restore the essence of the university through the enhancement of its correlation with the subjects and expand the epistemological sphere of the university from the holistic view. In addition, the ecological university could be considered a new idea of a university in that it takes into serious consideration the relationship with the social entities in its complex interconnection and accepts various perspectives through participating in the formal and informal communication processes in the world. The ecological university has the following implications for the university in crisis. First, it provides the possibility of forming a new idea of a university. Second, it contributes to the preservation and expansion of the epistemological sphere. Third, it strengths the aspect of the public good of the university.

전공기초교육 프로그램 만족도에 영향을 미치는 변인 분석

This study investigates significant factors regarding college freshman engineering students and analyses each factors influence on student satisfaction in the College of Engineering core curriculum. We carried out a survey targeting 505 students who completed their fundamental education for major course learning in the 2011 academic year while attending one college in Gwangju and ruled out inadequate respondents. A total sample size 437 students were analyzed. The seven independent variables are academic fees, academic term period, academic environment of the classroom, learning material content, time of lecture, student sincerity and student need for the program. The dependent variable is fundamental education satisfaction level. As a result of multiple regression analysis, the following factors were found to be significant in the following order: learning material content, time of lecture, student sincerity, student need for the program, academic fees and academic environment of the classroom. On the other side academic term period was not significant. For improving fundamental education satisfaction, there is a need for prudent consideration regarding learning material development and lecture times. Also further investigation should take place for policies necessary for increasing learner motivation and sincerity, and expand appropriate conditions for learners to become self-aware of the education they need within their major.
