Larval development of Scyra acutifrons (Crustacea: Decapoda: Epialtidae) with a key from the northern Pacific

        오성미,고현숙 한국통합생물학회 2010 Animal cells and systems Vol.14 No.4

The larvae of Scyra acutifrons are described and illustrated for the first time. The larval stage consists of two zoeal and a megalopal stages. The zoea of S. acutifrons is compared with those of other known species of the Epialtidae from the northern Pacific. The zoea of Scyra acutifrons can be easily distinguished from that of S. compressipes by having a longer rostral carapace spine and an endopod of maxillule with three setae. It is found that the genus Scyra (Pisinae) shows a great similarity to Pisoides bidentatus (Pisinae) and the genus Pugettia (Epialtinae) in the family Epialtidae; especially, S. acutidens coincides well with two Pugettia species (Pugettia incisa and P. gracilis) in the characteristics of the zoeal mouthpart appendages. To facilitate the study of plankton-collected material, a provisional key to the known zoeae of the Epialtidae from the northern Pacific is provided.

First Zoea of Pugettia gracilis (Crustacea: Decapoda: Majidae) Reared in the Laboratory

        오성미,고현숙 한국통합생물학회 2007 Animal cells and systems Vol.11 No.1

The first zoea of Pugetia gracilis is described andillustrated for the first time. Its morphological characteristicsare compared with those of other known species of thegenus from the northern Pacific waters. Although thePugettia zoeas of the northwestern and the northeasternPacifics are very similar, they can be easily distinguished bytheir dorsal carapace spine. In the northwestern Pacific it isit is smooth with a blunt tip.

Complete larval development of Pyromaia tuberculata (Crustacea: Decapoda: Majoidea: Inachoididae)

        오성미,고현숙 한국통합생물학회 2010 Animal cells and systems Vol.14 No.2

The introduced spider crab Pyromaia tuberculata was collected from Korea in 2005 and it was ovigerous. After hatching, larvae were reared in the laboratory at 20℃. The larval stage of the species consists of two zoeal and one megalopal stages. The larvae of the Korean species differ somewhat from those from New Zealand described by Webber and Wear (1981; N Z J Mar Freshwat Res. 15:331-383) and from Brazil described by Fransozo and Negreiros-Fransozo (1997; Crustaceana. 70:304-323.) in the setal presence of the antennule, the maxillule, the maxilla and the maxillipeds, and the abdomen. It is found that Fransozo and Negreiros-Fransozo have overlooked some setae on the basis of the zoeal maxillipeds and that re-examination of their larvae is needed. Also, it is found that the Inachoididae is heterogeneous based on the zoeal morphology because two distinct groups exist in the family.

Larval Development of Oregonia gracilis (Crustacea: Decapoda: Majoidea: Oregoniidae) with a Key to the Known Oregoniid Zoeae from the Northern Pacific

오성미,고현숙 한국동물분류학회 2010 Animal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity Vol.26 No.1

The larvae of Oregonia gracilis are described, illustrated and compared with those of other known species of the Oregoniidae. The first zoea of O. gracilis of the present study is somewhat different from that of Hart (1960) especially in having a basis and an endopod of the first maxilliped with 2, 2, 3, 3 and 3, 2, 1, 2, 5setations, respectively and an endopod of the second maxilliped with 1, 1, 5 setation. It is found the Oregoniidae must be a homogeneous group based on the zoeal morphology. A provisional key for the identification of the known zoeae of the Oregoniidae from the northern Pacific is provided.

      • 중학교 생물교수전략으로서의 마인드 맵 활용 효과

오성미,김동렬,문두호 부산대학교 사범대학 과학교육연구소 2005 科學敎育硏究報 Vol.32 No.-

Mind mapping is a new creative note taking method by using colors, symbols, lines, and sketches to express main image and key words. The object of this research was to prove how effective the science lesson was for middle school students when it was done using mind map. Experimental group was composed of seventy students who were participated in mind map activity, and control group was composed of seventy students who were participated in traditional teaching method. To analyze the influence of the mind mapping, pretest and posttest for science achievement, inquiry process skill and science-related attitude were applied to both groups. Also the response of students regarding mind mapping strategies was investigated. According to the analysis of these tests, in the pretest the differences of science achievement, inquiry process skill, science-related attitude between two groups were not significant(p>.05). In the posttests on science achievement, inquiry process skill, the scores of the experimental group was higher than those of control group(p<05). In the mind mapping strategy, the students of experimental group were more efficient than those of control group. Most students of experimental group exhibited positive attitude towards the mind mapping strategy. Therefore, mind mapping strategies made a positive effect on students' science achievement, inquiry process skill.
