Underwater pressure vessel is generally designed and manufactured to resist the water pressure of operating depth. But on account of various unexpected errors in the process of design, manufacture and integration, the pressure vessel can be deformed and water can leak into it at the operating depth. Because there is various equipment taking the roles of control, communication, instrumentation and power source inside the pressure vessel, leakage can occur a fatal influence to the total system. So the leakage detection and notice are very important functions on the underwater pressure vessel. This paper deals with the development of water leakage detector which consists of the conductive adhesive film as a sensing electrode and the ohmmeter as a sensing instrument. To figure out and standardize the shape of water leakage, the underwater pressure vessel having the loose bolts is simulated in the tests at the case of vertical and horizontal position. To find out the effective material of electrode, through the experiment, various kinds of material (aluminum, copper and conductive fabric) as an electrodes are compared to improve sensitivity. Also, to find out the relation between electrode's gap and sensitivity, the experiment was performed and the optimal size of electrode is derived. Though these experiments, small leakage droplet up to 0.1 ㎖ can be detected by optimal design of sensor and these results will be reflected in the development of complete leakage sensing system as a future work.

This study investigates cognitive sex differences in child and adolescent intelligence as measured by the Korean WISC-Ⅳ. It was hypothesized that there would be no differences attributable to sex in Full Scale IQ (FSIQ), but on various composite score levels. Sex effects were expected to be more pronounced during/after puberty than before. Some of the standardization sample of the Korean WISC-Ⅳ (N=508) was used to assess and evaluate sex differences in test performance across defined age groups (6-9, 10-12, and 13-16 years). At all ages, there were no gender effects in the Full-Scale IQ, Verbal Comprehension Index and Working Memory Index. Age-specific effect with 10-12-year-old children was found in the Perceptual Reasoning Index. In the Processing Speed Index, girls scored higher than boys and this finding was the most prominent in our data. No significant sex-by-age interaction effect was found in Full-Scale IQ, Verbal Comprehension Index, Perceptual Reasoning Index, Working Memory Index and Processing Speed Index using two-way ANOVA. The limitations of this study and suggested directions for future research were discussed.

Objectives : This study was aimed at evaluating the relationship between somatic symptoms, depression, anxiety and cognitive function in the patients with Mild Traumatic Brain Injury(MTBI). Methods : Thirty seven patients with MTBI were selected from those patients who had visited the Department of Neuropsychiatry of Wonkwang University Hospital from 2003 to 2007. To assess and quantify the somatic symptoms, depression and anxiety, Personality Assessment Inventory(PAI) was used. Assessment of cognitive function was carried out by using Korean Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale(K-WAIS), Rey-Kim Memory Test, and Kims Executive Function Test. The effects of somatic symptoms, depression, and anxiety on the cognitive function were evaluated by Pearson correlation test. Results : Somatic symptoms, depression, and anxiety, all showed inverse correlation to cognitive function. Specifically, 1) an increase in somatic symptoms was associated with a decrease in attention, verbal short term memory, verbal recall and recognition, and visual memory. 2) An increase in anxiety was associated with a decrease in verbal recall and recognition. 3) An increase in depression was associated with a decrease in cognitive function that requires high attention and verbal memory. Conclusion : The patients with MTBI displayed diverse symptoms ranging from cognitive impairment to somatic symptoms, depression, and anxiety. Somatic and emotional symptoms were correlated with cognitive function(especially executive function). Importantly, this study raises the possibility of treating the cognitive impairment associated with MTBI by treating somatic symptoms, depression, and anxiety.
