The new edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) is published by the American Psychiatric Association. The diagnostic systems for mental disorders have come under criticism for relying on presenting signs and symptoms with the result that they do not adequately reflect relevant neurobiological and behavioral systems. Finally, the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) in the United States has suggested the Research Domain Criteria (RDoC) to develop a research classification system based upon dimensions of neurobiology and behavioral aspect. The present review introduces the RDoC as a new reaseach framework.

Glutamate receptors are important components of synaptic transmission in the nervous system. Especially, ${\alpha}$-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazole propionic acid (AMPA) receptors mediate most abundant excitatory synaptic transmission in the brain. There is elaborate mechanism of regulation of AMPA receptors including protein synthesis/degradation, intracellular trafficking, exocytosis/endocytosis and protein modification. In recent studies, it is revealed that functional dysregulation of AMPA receptors are related to major psychiatric disorders. In this review, we describe the structure and function of AMPA receptors in the synapse. We will introduce three steps of mechanism involving trafficking of AMPA receptors to neuronal membrane, lateral diffusion into synapses and synaptic retention by membrane proteins and postsynaptic scaffold proteins. Lastly, we will describe recent studies showing that regulation of AMPA receptors is important pathophysiological mechanism in psychiatric disorders.

In the post-genomic era, the mechanisms controlling activation of genes are thought to be more important. Gene-environment interactions are crucial in both development and treatment of psychiatric disorders as they are complex genetic disorders. Epigenetics is defined as a change of gene expression that occurs without a change of DNA sequence and can be heritable by certain mechanisms. Epigenetic changes play essential roles in control of gene activation. DNA methylation, chromatin remodeling and RNAi act as key mechanisms for epigenetic modifications of genes. Here, we review the basic mechanisms of epigenetics and discuss their potential involvement of human diseases, including psychiatric disorders.

First-line therapy of depression is a pharmacological treatment. Many prescribed antidepressants modulate monoamine neurotransmitters including serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine. Recently, Ketamine, an N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor antagonist, has received attention and has been investigated for clinical trials and neurobiological studies. Here, I introduce ketamine as a rapid-acting antidepressant.

Synaptic adhesion molecules mediate synapse formation, maturation and maintenance. These proteins are localized at synaptic sites in neuronal axons and dendrites. These proteins function as a bridge of synaptic cleft via interaction with another synaptic adhesion molecules in the opposite side. They can interact with scaffold proteins via intracellular domain and recruit many synaptic proteins, signaling proteins and synaptic vesicles. Scaffold proteins function as a platform in dendritic spines or axonal terminals. Recently, many genetic studies have revealed that synaptic adhesion molecules and scaffold proteins are important in neurodevelopmental disorders, psychotic disorders, mood disorders and anxiety disorders. In this review, fundamental mechanisms of synapse formation and maturation related with synaptic adhesion molecules and scaffold proteins are introduced and their psychiatric implications addressed.
중동 언론의 한류 보도양상: 한류 장르, 기사종류, 보도태도, 프레임을 중심으로

This study analyzed the genre of Korean Wave, type, tone and frame of 538 news reported in media of 7 nations(Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Turkey and Israel) from 2000 to 2013 July. The period was divided into the 1st(2000~2010) and the 2nd(2011~2013.7.) period. 28.6% of 538 news were reported in the 1st and 71.4% were in the 2nd. It was explained that Korean Wave started to be popular in the 2nd period in Middle East. The straight and simple fact news were 82.4%, and the commentary and planning news were 9.3%. Middle East’s media focused on merely introducing Korean Wave rather than analyzing it deeply. In genre of Korean Wave, Movie was reported most in the 1st, and music was most in the 2nd. The most popular genre was changed from movie to music. The ratio of news tone was neutral 68.8%, positive 29.0% and negative 2.2%, and the ratio of positive tone increased from 21% in the 1st to 32% in the 2nd. The attitude to Korean Wave got better. Frame was categorized into six. It was reported more in the order of cultural interest(46.6%), cultural exchange(33.6%), success(6.9%), policy(6.7%), economy(4.5%) and critics(1.7%). The more reported frames were almost same periodically. Korean Wave was evaluated to be spread out widely in the order of ``Israel> UAE·Turkey> Saudi Arabia·Egypt·Iran> Iraq``. Finally it was resulted that Korean Wave was not deeply rooted in Middle East, but the future is promising.
수용자의 미디어 건강정보 품질 인식, 만족도가 이용에 미치는 영향: 신문, TV, 인터넷 매체를 중심으로

As the health information in media increases, this study analyzed the relationship of audiences’ quality evaluation, satisfaction and usage on the health information of newspaper, TV and internet media. The quality evaluation of health information were analyzed by five factors, which were categorized into three positive factors (reliability, easiness and readability) and two negative factors(commerciality and sensationalism). The scores of three positive quality factors were 3.06-3.54 points (in Likert 5-Point Scale) in normal level in all media. The scores of sensationalism were recorded about 2 points in low level, whereas commerciality was 3.52-3.68 points in relatively high level in all media. In three media, reliability, easiness and readability showed a significant positive correlation, whereas commerciality and sensationalism did. Total scores of three positive quality factors were higher in the order of TV, internet media and newspaper. TV was highest in reliability and readability, whereas internet media was highest in easiness. Total scores of two negative factors were higher in the order of internet media, TV and newspaper. Audiences’ satisfaction were higher in the order of TV, newspaper and internet media. Out of five quality factors, reliability, easiness and sensationalism commonly had positive effects on satisfaction in all media and notably effects of easiness and reliability were greater. Sensationalism had positive effects because of news consumption characteristics that the pursuit of pleasure helps increases news usage. Easiness and satisfaction had positive effects on the now-usage in all media. Effects on future-usage were greater in the order of easiness, satisfaction and reliability. Negative factors never help increase usage of health information, and sensationalism showed negative effects on future-usage of TV. It is suggested that reliability should be enhanced by the reinforcement of information expertise, easiness should be strengthened by the improvement of information delivering method and commerciality should be reduced for increasing audiences’ usage on health information.

최근 스마트폰, 태블릿 PC와 같은 모바일 스마트 디바이스(mobile smart devices)와 더불어 스마트 TV에 대한 관심이 크게 증가하면서 사용자들의 컨텐츠와 기능에 대한 요구 또한 다양해지고 있다. 스마트 TV가 컨텐츠와 기능적 측면에서 사용자의 편의와 재미, 그리고 유익함을 동시에 만족시키기 위해서는 더욱 지능화된 기능을 탑재할 필요가 있다. 일반적으로 남녀에 따라 TV를 시청하는 경향이 다르기 때문에 현재 TV를 시청하는 사용자의 성별분류(gender classification)를 통해 성별에 따른 따른 채널이나 광고, 응용 프로그램을 달리 제공하는 성별 기반의 스마트 TV 응용을 개발할 수 있게 된다. 본 논문에서는 스마트 TV 응용에 적합한 BGOLAM 기반의 성별분류 방법에 대해 제안하고, 실험을 통해 제안하는 방법의 적절성을 보인다
일본 대중문화 개방과 한국 언론의 수용 태도 변화: 보도태도, 프레임, 정보원을 중심으로

This study analyzed the acceptance attitude of Korean media about the opening of Japanese pop culture. This study conducted time series contents analysis of 1367 news, which 16 Korean media reported during 20 years 8 months. Analysis time was classified into pre-opening time (1993.10.25.~1998.10.19.), opening time (1998.10.20.~2003.12.30.) and post-opening time (2003.12.31.~2013.10.20.) News frames were classified into cultural interest, cultural industry, culture acceptance, culture rejection and prescription. Negative news attitudes were more than positive in pre-opening and opening time, but positive attitude became more in post-opening. Numbers of culture acceptance frame were the most among five frames and those of culture rejection frame were the least. Numbers of culture acceptance framewere more than those of culture rejection frame in all three times. Korean media showed the acceptance attitude from pre-opening time. Among various sources, the portion of Korean officials responsible for the open-door policy were the most. But Acceptance attitudes were different according to times. Critical attitude was very strong in pre-opening time, but diminished in opening and was changed into positive attitude in pre-opening. Korean media showed positive attitude that opening could be the chance of development of Korean pop culture industry. Time passing, the acceptance attitudes of four cultural genres were changed positively. Positive attitudes were stronger in order of music, movie and broadcasting, cartoon. It was explained that positive acceptance attitude of Korean media contributed to the development of Korean Wave, and Japanese pop culture was accepted following by three steps of adjustment, adaptation and acculturation without the first step of cultural shock or rejection, which generally appeared in the opening process of foreign culture.
정보원과 신뢰도가 학생의 대학이미지와 대학결정에 미치는 영향 차이: 대인커뮤니케이션, 미디어, 대학을 중심으로

This study analyzed whether there was influence gap for informations of personal communication, media and university PR to take on attitude change to university, and for attitude change to take on decision on university entrance. And this study analyzed whether the reliability on sources played a role as a mediator variable. Survey analysis was conducted on 1041 freshmen, who entered A university in 2013. Though informations of 3 sources took effects on image-up, influence of personal communication was stronger than that of others. In influence for attitude change to take on decision on university entrance, it was just the same. Personal communication took effects on both of student-centered- factor and university-centered-factor, which students thought highly of when they selected university. Media took effects on only university-centered-factor, and university PR did not. Reliability on sources was full or partial mediator variables in all routes. It was concluded that influence of personal communication was more powerful than that of media and university PR.
