취학 전 유아의 초등학교 생활적응을 돕기 위한 부모교육 실태 및 요구조사

본 연구의 목적은 취학 전 유아의 학교생활 적응을 위하여 어린이집에서 실시하고 있는 부모교육 실태를 살펴보고 학부모의 맞벌이 여부, 학력, 연령, 다른 자녀의 취학 경험 여부 등에 따라 보육시설에서 실시하기를 원하는 부모 교육 프로그램에 관한 요구가 무엇인지 파악하는 것이다. 이를 통해 초등학교 입학을 앞두고 있는 학부모를 위한 부모교육 프로그램 내용이나 방법 등 구체적인 도움을 제공하는데 기초 자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 본 연구를 수행하기 위해 경기도 N시에 위치한 100곳의 어린이집에 재직하고 있는 교사 222명과 만 5세 자녀를 어린이집에 보내고 있는 학부모 266명을 대상으로 질문지를 배부․분석하였다. 연구 결과, 대부분의 어린이집에서 취학 전 유아의 학교생활 적응을 위한 부모교육을 다양하게 실시하고 있었으며 교사와 학부모 집단 모두가 취학 전 유아의 초등학교 생활 적응을 위한 부모교육의 필요성에 대해 높은 인식을 가지고 있었다. 또한 부모의 변인(연령, 학력, 맞벌이 여부 등)에 따라 다소 차이는 있으나 부모 교육 실시 방법은 강의나 강연회, 면담의 방법을 가장 선호하였으며 그 구체적인 교육 내용으로는 자녀의 참을성 및 올바른 수업태도, 긍정적인 생활 태도, 적극성이나 발표력, 또래 간의 문제 해결 방법 등의 내용에 가장 필요성이 제기되었다. This study examines the actual condition of parental education about daycare centers and its impact on preschoolers’ adjustment to school life and grasps the difficulties and problems that parents experience prior to their child’s admission to elementary school. Moreover, the study examines the parents’ recognitions and expectations and elucidates the demands for a preschooler’s adjustment to elementary school. The aim is to offer basic data to help analyze and improve the expectations on child care facilities to perform their role in helping children adjust to elementary school, and to present the actual conditions of the parental education program designed to help preschoolers adjust to school life, which is being carried out in the childcare facilities, targeting parents for childcare facilities ahead of the children’s admission to elementary school. Furthermore, this data is provided to ensure that this program reflects the parents’ demands. To survey the actual conditions of and demand for parental education in childcare facilities for preschoolers’ adjustment to school life, a questionnaire was widely distributed targeting 222 teachers who are working in 100 daycare centers located in N city of Gyeonggi Province. A summary of the results of this study is as follows. First, most childcare facilities conduct parental education for preschoolers’ adjustment to school life. The frequency of operation is indicated as once a year at the end of each term. Those who carry out the parental education are directors, vice-directors, or daycare teachers, who work for the childcare facilities. Second, as for the necessity of parental education for preschoolers’ adjustment to elementary school life, both teachers and parents recognize that it is vital.
