One of the main advantages of DFDE (Dual Fuel Diesel Electric) LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) carrier is the ability to consume LNG as fuel for propulsion. Therefore, a fuel pump for transferring LNG fuel to engine should be installed in the cargo tank of DFDE LNG carrier. In special occasion, such as bad weather, the pump could not work because of the sloshing effect of LNG. Therefore, the reliability of the LNG pumping system on the wavy condition of carrier should be investigated. In this study, sloshing analysis of LNG cargo tank was carried out by commercial software, ANSYS CFX. The main variable for the analysis was the gap of the bucket and LNG level. The movement of LNG carrier was calculated by the equation from the ship’s classification society. The results showed that there was a minimum level of LNG in the cargo tank for maintaining LNG fuel pump consistently on the pitching condition.
