The authors carried out a study on the evaluation of daylighting distributions for separated exterior shading device from the building using the Lightscape 3.2. As a comparison of Lightscape 3.2 and another commercial software, it was excellent software in exactness.<br/> The results were proved to be an effective daylight control system for improvement of building environment. Especial1y, separated exterior shading device could control according to variable factors of shading device. For examples, distance and width of shading device, building distance and etc.<br/> Consequently, we verified that separated exterior shading device is much better off than existing shading devices in evaluation of uniformity factor for daylight control.

The purpose of this study is to apply a heliostat system for improvement of daylight environment in underground space and overview of daylight systems were reviewed. The underground space should be applied a daylight in order to improvement of environment quality and building energy conservation. In this paper, new application model of heliostat system was proposed. the evaluation of heliostat performance was performed a simulation using Lightscape and theoretical studies.<br/> The results were proved to be an effective application method for improvement of daylight environment in underground space. Consequently, new application method of heliostat can be improved a better than conventional method.
