This paper presents a comparison of the rotor position estimation of a switched reluctance motor(SRM) with built-in search coils. Squared euclidean distance, fuzzy logic and neural network are used to estimate the rotor position. The simulation is performed by three methods and the results are compared. The experiment of squared euclidean distance is achieved and compared with the simulation result.

In this paper a comparison of the initial rotor position estimation methods by two type search coils for switched reluctance motor(SRM) is presented. The experimental results of the two methods show that the interior central pole search coil method has better performance than the exterior pole search coil method. The reason of the discrepancy in performance is described.

A method for driving and position sensing of TSRM(Toroidal Switched Reluctance Motor) using the search coil is presented in this paper. Position information of the rotor is essential for SRM drives. The rotor position sensor such as an opto-interrupter or high performance encoder is generally used for the estimation of rotor position. However, these discrete position sensors not only add complexity and cost to the system but also tend to reduce the reliability of the drive system. In order to solve these problems, in the proposed method, rotor position detection is achieved using the voltage waveforms induced by the time varying flux linkage in the search coils, and then the appropriate phases are excited to drive the SRM. But the search coil EMF is generated only when the motor rotates. Therefore the rotor position sensing method at standstill is also suggested.

신재생 에너지를 계통과 효율적으로 연계하기 위해서는 일정한 DQ파형이 필요하다. 하지만 부하의 변동으로 전류가 작을 경우 노이즈의 영향으로 제어에 어려움을 겪게 된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 효율적인 전류 제어를 하기 위해 DFT 기법을 사용하여 노이즈를 제거하고 기본파 전류 파형을 추출하여 DQ 변환을 수행한다.

This paper presents a method of detecting rotor position for single phase Switched Reluctance Motors(SRMs) using searchs coil. In the single phase SRM, mainly Hall effect sensors or photo interrupters have been used to detect the rotor position. But these sensors cause high cost and increase the volume of the motor. Furthermore when the motor is used in very hostile environment like high temperature or pressure, its reliability goes down. In this paper, low cost and robust characteristics of rotor position detection method are focused in order to compensate for disadvantage of existing sensors. Search coils wound around the stator pole are used for detection of the rotor position in single phase SRM. Rotor position detection is achieved through electromotive force patterns induced by time-varying flux linkage in the search coil. The validity of the method is verified by experimental results.
SMC을 적용한 BLDC motor 컴프레서 특성실험에 대한연구

본 논문은 연자성체(Iron powerder)인 일명 SMC(Soft Magnetic Composite)를 적용한 3상 BLDC motor의 설계 및 제작 , 측정에 관한 연구이다. 특히 본 연구에서는 냉장고 압축기용 120W급 3상 BLDC motor에 관한 것으로써 연자성체를 적용시 모터 특성결과에 대하여 기술하였다. 아울러 SMC를 이용한 모터설계의 기준을 제시하였다. SMC 재질은 일반 실리콘 강판에 비해 코어의 3차원 형상을 자유롭게 제작 할 수 있으며, 고속 회전시 발생하는 철손을 감소시킬 수 있어 모터 코어용으로 많은 연구가 이뤄지고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 우선 2차원 설계를 통하여 냉장고 압축기용 BLDC motor의 코어를 SMC 재질로 제작 성능 측정 하였다.

This paper presents a new method of detecting rotor position in Toroidal Switched Reluctance Motor(TSRM). In this paper, low cost and robust characteristics of rotor position detection method are focused in order to compensate for disadvantage of general sensors. Search coils wound through the hole of the stator poles are used for detection of the rotor position in TSRM. Rotor position detection is achieved through electromotive force patterns induced by time-varying flux linkage in the search coils and then adequate phase is excited for drive. The initial rotor position estimation method is also described. The validity of the method is verified by experimental results.

In this paper, an sensing method of initial rotor position in Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM) at standstill is proposed, In case search coils are used as a position sensor, A search coil used in a method of detecting positions of TSRM has many advantages, which is highly efficient in low cost and maintenance free, and characterized by its function and role as a position sensor.
