We have calculated the real and the imaginary parts of the dielectric constant in ZnO based on the exciton-polariton model, where both the dispersions of the light and the exciton are coupled, as well as incident-angle dependences of the Fresnel reflectivity spectra for the TE and the TM modes. Implementing the delocalized dispersion in the Lorentz model, we obtained the real and the imaginary parts of the exciton-polariton dispersion. Near the bottleneck in the exciton-polariton dispersion, the group velocity was reduced by four orders of the magnitude with respect to the speed of light in vacuum. When the dead layer was taken into account as an additional boundary condition for the mode degeneracy of the upper- and the lower-polariton branches, the reflectivity spectrum was significantly modified. 빛과 엑시톤의 분산이 결합된 엑시톤-폴라리톤 모형을 기반으로 ZnO 에너지 갭 근처의 복소 유전상수와 반사 스펙트럼 및 복소 프레넬 반사율의 입사각 의존성을 TE 및 TM 모드에 대해 각각 계산하였다. 독립 조화진동자를 기반으로 하는 로렌츠 모델에 비국소적 분산을 추가적으로 고려하여 엑시톤-폴라리톤 분산의 실수부와 허수부를 각각 구하였으며, 엑시톤-폴라리톤 병목 분산영역에서 군속도가 빛의 속력의 1/10000까지 감소됨을 확인하였다. 엑시톤-폴라리톤 분산에서 나타나는 위-폴라리톤 가지 (upper polariton branch) 와 아래-폴라리톤 가지 (lower polariton branch) 의 축퇴현상에 의한 추가 경계조건과 비활성층을 고려할 경우 반사 스펙트럼의 변화가 눈에 띄게 일어남을 확인하였다.

Shape ellipticity dependence of the exciton fine energy levels in CdTe and CdSe nanocrystal quantum dots were compared theoretically by considering the crystal structure and the Coulomb interaction of an electron and a hole. While quantum dot ellipticity changes from an oblate to prolate quantum dot via spherical shape, both the fine energy levels and the dipole moment in wurtzite structure of a CdSe quantum dot change linearly for ellipticity. In contrast, CdTe quantum dots were found to show a level crossing between the bright and dark exciton states with a significant change of the dipole moment due to the cubic structure. Shape ellipticity dependence of the optical nonlinearities in CdTe and CdSe nanocrystal quantum dots was also calculated by using semiconductor Bloch equations. For a spherical shape quantum dot, only 1 L dominates the optical nonlinearities in a CdSe quantum dot, but both 1 U and 0 U contribute in a CdTe quantum dot. As excitation pulse area becomes strong (~π), the optical nonlinearities of both CdSe and CdTe quantum dots are mainly governed by absorption saturation. However, in the case of a prolate CdTe quantum dot, the real part of the nonlinear refractive index becomes relatively significant.
2015 개정 교육과정을 바탕으로 한 진로-영어 통합 수업의 실제

Content and Language Integrated Learning(CLIL) has been acknowledged worldwide and gained a range of positive responses in ensuring students to learn the target language as well as content subject (Brinton, Snow, & Wesche, 2003; Mehisto, Marsch, & Frigols, 2008; Seikkula-Leino, 2007). Though proved to have strengths, a dearth of CLIL-based lessons have been implemented in EFL (English as a Foreign Language) settings. Thus, the present study was conducted in elucidating the significance of CLIL in developing learners’ language proficiency as well as their content knowledge. Based on the pilot study which confirmed learners’ primary interest in lessons relevant to future and career, the present research organized content in relation to the subject Career. A total of 90 first-year high school students who are generally at their intermediate level participated in the present study. The CEIL program (Career and English Integrated Learning) was implemented as part of their regular English classes, twice a week(each period of 50 minutes), for approximately 8 months. The findings revealed the potential of CEIL program in enriching students’ English learning experiences, especially in terms of their attitude toward learning English, communicative competence, and awareness of their future career.
