When marine construction plans towards the of container terminal construction and port are generally constructed on very soft soil, soil improvements are quite essential for the area preparation of road, structures etc.. In this paper, a number of domestic case studies on soil placement method on soft caly layer, known as surface soil stabilization, are studied. Based on the studies, more advanced construction method of sand and soil placement is proposed in this paper.

The construction of a hydraulically placed sand body can be achieved by discharging of sandy soils..In this case the sand water mixture flow, which is hydraulically supplied through pipeline flows beneath and above the water level. It is needed that density characteristics of sandy soils in vertical direction should be investigated for ground improvement during construction. In this paper by case studies, density properties were studied.

Generally, tunnel lining is constructed when tunnel's strain has come to zero after excavation. Therefore, the cause of the later crack of tunnel lining is not additional loads. This study analyzes the cause of tunnel lining cracks with respect to the properties of concrete and the lining's mechanical behaviour. When lining's structural design is examined, the side pressure of concrete under construction is considered. A proper boundary condition is studied. The structural analysis method about the generation of cracks is presented, and the effect of drying shrinkage is analyzed.
