This study attempted to analyze the Journal of Law of Education from first issue to 28th volume second issue in 2016 in order to explore the current research trends in the field of educational law using the aspect of research topics and methods. As the results of the analyses, research topics on the right, obligation, and responsibility of student, parent, and teacher (30.9%) are the most frequently examined in the domestic and foreign research of educational law, whereas the basic part (3.6%) of right to education is the least. Among educational law system research topics, the area of each educational act and educational policy (32.3%) is the most studied, while the area of educational law basic (7.0%) is least. In terms of research methods, educational act itself and the interpretation of educational law (55.0%) are most popular, and the next is a mixed method (39.2%) both case analysis and analytic research on educational acts, which is increasing trends in research method in the Journal of Law of Education. Based on the results of this study, suggestions for future educational law study are described as follow: first, research activation in the least explored for about 30 years; second, not leaning on too much towards each educational act and simple interpretation of educational law system; third, the importance of persistent study on the research trends in the field of educational law.
