대학의 자율적 학습공동체 프로그램이 대학생의 핵심역량과 학업역량에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 대학에서 진행되는 자율적 학습공동체 프로그램이 대학생들의 핵심역량과 학업역량에 어떤 효과를 일으킬 수 있는지 탐색하기 위해 진행되었다. 2017년 4월부터 12월까지 진행된 C대학교 학습공동체 프로그램에 참여한 586명의 학생들이 연구에 참여하였다. 참여 학생들을 대상으로 2차에 걸쳐 실시한 핵심역량과 학업역량 설문조사를 바탕으로 학습공동체 활동 유형에 따른 역량 점수 변화를 비교하여 결과를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 학습공동체 참여한 학생들의 대학생 핵심역량과 학업 역량은 활동 시작시점에 비해 활동 종료시점에 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과 양상은 학습공동체 활동 유형에 따라 상이하게 나타났다. 전문가 역량을 비롯한 대학생 핵심역량 점수들은 협동학습이나 현장탐구를 목적으로 구성된 팀에 비해 연구개발을 목적으로 한 팀에게서 두드러진 상승 결과가 나타난 반면, 메타인지, 학습전략, 학업동기 및 학업몰입과 같은 학업역량 점수들은 학습공동체의 활동 내용과는 무관하게 모두 상승하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과는 다양한 목적을 위해 자 율적으로 구성되는 대학의 학습공동체 활동이 대학생들의 다양한 역량 향상에 기여 할 수 있다는 결과를 확인시켜 주었다. 더불어 이러한 결과가 학습공동체 활동 유형에 따라 다르게 나타날 가능성을 제시하였는데, 학습공동체 활동의 학습 목표를 구 체적으로 설정할수록 학생들의 역량 향상에 도움이 될 가능성을 제안하였다. This study intended to investigate the effect of learning communities on college students’ core competency and learning competency. Total 586 students from 23 universities participated in survey research in 2017. The methodology for analysis was to compare the change of both students’ core competencies and learning competencies between pretest and posttest across type of activity. The results are as follows. First, the scores of core competencies and learning competencies in posttest were significantly higher than in pretest. Second, the type of learning activity had an influenced differentially on student’s core competencies and learning competencies. The benefits of learning community with student’s core competency were greater in students’ teams in research development and field search than ones in collaborative learning. On the other hand, the benefits with learning competency has revealed evenly with no respect to types of activities. Educational implication of learning community in college was discussed.
