도시가계의 통신비 지출 변화추이 및 가계특성과의 관계분석

The purpose of this study is to investigate both trends and the related factors of expenditures on communication of urban households. For the analyses, the aggregate annual data from 1985∼2002 Annual Urban Expenditure Survey conducted by National Survey Office, were used for the expenditure trend, and the raw data of 1990, 2000, 2001, and 2002 Annual Urban Expenditure Survey were used for identifying the related factors of the expenditure. The results showed that the amount of the communication expenditure in 2003 was about nine times of that in 1985, while the amount of total consumption was 2.5 times during the same period. The budget share of communication expenditure to total expenditure was from 1.9% to 6.0%. The results of regression analyses showed that, with more household income, more household members and employed household members, and higher education experience, the amount of household expenditure for communication was bigger. The households living in their own house were found to tend to spend more on communication than others. Householder`s occuation was found to be another significant factor on the expenditure. The householders working in their own business tended to have more expenditure than those with other types of occupation. It was found that the significant factors of the expenditure on communication were somewhat different in the results using 1990, 2000, 2001, 2002 data. In 2002, the expenditure in the households with 20-29 years old was found to be more than others. With more current data used, the positive relationship between the number of employed household member and the communication expenditure was more dominent.
