Today, as the remodelling and extension of RC structure are increased, the rebar splice system for the connection of structural members is required. Therefore, this study develops the rebar splice equipment with sleeve connection and evaluates structural bearing capacity in order to ensure the strength of structural element connection parts through bond capacity experiment of the sleeve and reinforcing bar according to design variables.

This study presents the initial shape design of steel truss structure using topology optimization. Traditionally, the structural design process starts with an initial conceptual model which is inspired by the designer’s intuition and previous experiences. But traditional procedure is too slow and inefficiency. Therefore, this study presents a necessary method in the development of initial shape design of steel truss structure. Also, this study is expected to contribute to effective layout of structures and designer's design.

This study is to present the optimal initial shape of cantilever type steel structure using topology optimization technique. To this end, this study finds out the initial optimum layout of cantilever type steel structure by using the topology optimization for unit structural model, and then decides the final optimal shape by using the size optimization for the total structure combined with several unit models.

Recently, the interest in the large spaital structure is increasing with needs or sports and cultural facilities and recreational space. The large spatial structure can adopt various structure types. Especially, the space frame system has been usually adopted because of the advantages about the beauty of shape, structural benefit, lightweight and economic. But, it is not easy to choose the economical member size and shape because it depends on the structural engineer's experience and the repeated trial and error. Also, The shape of spatial structure is affected by form of land and purpose of structure. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to generate and optimize the ellipse dome structure.

We have many difficulties in the modelling and load transfer mechanism analysis of stone pagoda structure because it is regarded as masonry system. So, this study evaluates the vertical load transfer mechanism through the structural modelling and analysis considering the discontinuum behavior and contact surface mechanism for the three-story stone pagoda in Goseon-sa temple site. To this end, this study considers the discrete element method for the discontinuum modelling and analysis of masonry structure. Also, the vertical load transfer mechanism is evaluated through the comparison of the analysis results.

It is very important to find out the initial shape for the efficient design of spatial steel truss structure. Also, the reasonable optimization techniques are required in order to perform the optimal design of the structure. Traditionally, the structural design process starts with an initial conceptual model which is inspired by the designer's intuition and previous experiences. So, this study is to provide the information about the optimum layout of structure through the integrated process for the initial topology and final size optimization. To this end, this study finds out the initial optimum layout of spatial steel truss structure by using the topology optimization for unit structure model, and then decides the final optimal shape by using the size optimization for the total structure combined with several unit models.
