        Making Al composition in the base metal interface of spray coating film then after forming the inclination composition coation(the second-film) of AIN composition in the surface, holding a exfoliation of the coating film and trying to make Al/AIN complex-film contained a much of nitrides were obtained below result. As cooling of the base metal hold a thermal expansion of the base metal, it can know effected holding a exfoliation of coating film and not affected a bad effect to nitration reaction. According the spray distance was longer, the nitration reaction controled and the coating film was delicately formed. In case RF input power was 3㎾, coating film is very well formed. Following the increase of a flux of carrier gas, a thickness of coating film tended to decrease and as using the powder of diameter 3 ㎛ the best suitable situation was thought to powder supply of 31/min. the value of average hardness nearby the base metal interface was 45(Hv) and the value of average hardness nearby the surface of coating film was 5l4(Hv).

      • P-27 : Balance algorithm for time scale analysis of stiff metabolic system

        In complex metabolic system, reaction rate equation is inherently nonlinear and stiff. Several numerical approximation methods are used to handle this stiff dynamic model of metabolic system. Among them, quasi-steady state approximation (QSSA) method has an advantage of alleviating stiffness of the dynamic model. To apply QSSA method correctly, each variable should be carefully scaled. First of all, we selected appropriate time scale which might be the basis for deriving necessary condition for the validity of the QSSA method. Then scales of other variables can be determined by balance of reaction terms in each rate equation. In this work, we constructed balance algorithm for time scale analysis and derived necessary condition for validity of QSSA method.

        흰쥐 흑질내 수산화도파민 주입으로 유도된 파킨슨병 모델에서 흑질과 선조체의 신경교세포 반응

        Objectives : Parkinson's disease is a well-known neurodegenerative disease characterized by dopaminergic cell death in the substantia nigra. The reactive gliosis by activated astrocytes and microglias is no more regarded as a simple sequel of neuronal cell death. Microglial activation takes place in a stereotypic pattern with graded morphologic and functional(resting, activated and phagocytic) changes. In Parkinson's disease animal model, the degree of microglial activation along the nigro-striatal dopaminergic tract has not been studied intensively. The purpose of this study was to elucidate the characteristics of microglial reaction and to grade its degree of activation at substantia nigra and corpus striatum using 6-hydroxydopamine induced rat model of Parkinson's disease. Methods : Using Sprague-Dawley rat, parkinsonian model was made by 6-hydroxydopamine(OHDA) induced destruction of medial and lateral substantia nigra(SN). The rat was sacrificed 3-, 5-, 7-, 14- and 21-day-after operation. For control group, we injected saline with same manner and sacrificed 3-day after operation. With immunohistochemistry, we examined dopaminergic neuronal cells and microglial expression using tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) and OX-42 antibodies, respectively. Also we performed in situ hybridization for osteopontin, a possible marker of subset in activated microglia. Results : 1) In lesioned side of substantia nigra and corpus striatum, the TH immunoreactivity was markedly decreased in whole experimental groups. 2) Using optical densitometry, microglia induced immunoreactivity of OX-42 was counted at SN and corpus striatum. At SN, it was increased significantly on the lesioned side in control and all time-dependent experimental groups. At striatum, it was increased significantly in post lesion 3-day group only(p <0.05). Compared to control group, immunoreactivity of OX-42 on lesioned side was increased in groups, except post lesion 21-day group, at SN. Only post lesion 3-day group showed significance at striatum(p <0.05). Compared to SN region, immunoreactivity of OX-42 was much weaker in striatum. 3) Microscopically, the microglias showed typically different activation pattern. At SN, numerous phagocytic microglias were found at pars compacta and reticularis of lesion side. At striatum, no phagocytic form was found and the intensity of staining was much weaker. 4) At SN, the immunoreactivity of osteopontin showed definite laterality and it was markedly increased at pars compacta of lesion side with relatively short duration time. At striatum, however, it was not detected by in situ hybridization technique. Conclusion : The nigral 6-OHDA induced rat model of Parkinson's disease revealed several characteristic patterns of microglial reaction. At SN, microglias was activated shortly after direct neuronal damage and maintained for about three weeks. In contrast, despite of sufficient dopaminergic insufficiency at striatum, activation of microglias was trivial, and distinguished 3 day later. Antegrade slow neuronal degeneration is major pathophysiology in striatal dopaminergic deficiency. So, the acuteness of neuronal damage and consequential degree of neuronal degeneration may be important factor for microglial activation in neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease. Additionally, osteopontin may be a possible marker for several subsets of activated microglia, possibly the phagocytic form.

      • Generalized QSSA method for stiff metabolic system

        Due to the complexity of metabolic system, its dynamic model can only be handled either numerically or approximately. Among the various solution methods, quasi-steady state approximation method has an advantage of alleviating stiffness of the dynamic model. To apply QSSA correctly, the variable and parameter should be carefully scaled. In classical Michaelis-Menten type reaction, we set small parameter as ratio of initial values of enzyme to substrate. Unfortunately this parameter can not be applied other complex metabolic system, small parameter must be defined on a case-by-case basis. In this study, we simplify some modified Michaelis-Menten type reactions by QSSA with derivation of small parameter to generalize simplification for common metabolic system.

        Relationship of Pain, Disability and Quality of Life in Individual with Neck and Shoulder Pain

        Purpose: This study was to investigate the correlation between pain, disability and quality of life among adolescents and office workers with neck and shoulder pain. Methods: Twenty-four subjects (mean age=24.92 years, SD=3.94, range=20-37) with neck and shoulder pain participated in this study. The outcome measures of the study were visual analogue scale (VAS), neck disability index (NDI), shoulder pain and disability index (SPADI), short form-36 (SF-36) for neck and shoulder pain and disability, quality of life. Pearson’s correlation and Speaman’s rank correlation were used to measure the association between VAS and NDI, SPADI, SF-36. Results: The VAS showed a positive correlation between weak to moderate with the NDI and SPADI, but no significantly correlated (ρ=0.34, ρ=0.25). The moderate positive correlation and significant correlation were observed between NDI and SPADI (ρ=0.43, p<0.05). The PCS of SF-36 was significantly negative correlated with the VAS (ρ=-0.24), NDI and SPADI (ρ=-0.63, ρ=-0.59, p<0.05). Conclusion: The pain and disability of neck and shoulder has closely relevance. And, the pain and disability of neck and shoulder has a negative impact on the quality of life.
