독거노인의 주거환경이 삶의 만족에 미치는 영향: 사회자본의 매개효과를 중심으로

본 연구는 독거노인의 주거환경이 노년기 삶의 만족에 미치는 영향을 사회자본의 매개효과를 중심으로 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 한국복지패널 13차년도 자료를 활용하여 2차 분석을 실시하였다. 분석에는 당시 65세 이상 독거노인 1,458명이 분석에 포함되어 졌으며, 분석은 Baron & Kenny(1984)가 제안한 일련의 회귀분석 방식과 Sobel test를 활용하였다. 분석 결과 독거노인의 주거환경과 삶의 만족도 관계에서 사회자본은 부분 매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 독거노인의 사회심리적 주거환경이 삶의 만족도에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 요인일 뿐만 아니라 사회자본을 매개로 삶의 만족도에 간접적 영향을 미치는 요인인 것으로 드러났다. 이와 같은 연구 결과를 통해 본 연구는 독거노인들을 위한 정책 개발에 있어 주거환경과 사회자본 형성의 중요성을 제기하였다. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the residential environment of the elderly living alone on the satisfaction of life in old age, focusing on the mediating effect of social capital. This study conducted a secondary analysis using data from the 13th year of the Korea Welfare Panel. Total 1,458 elderly people aged 65 or older living alone were included in the analysis, and a series of regression analysis methods suggested by Baron & Kenny(1984) and Sobel test were used for the analysis. As a result, it was found that social capital had a partial mediating effect on the relationship between the living environment and life satisfaction of the elderly living alone. In other words, it was found that the socio-psychological environment of the elderly living alone was not only a factor that directly affects life satisfaction, but also a factor that indirectly affects on life satisfaction through social capital. In results, the necessity of continuing policy interest in improving the residential environment suitable for the capabilities of the elderly living alone and the formation of social capital was raised in this study.
