The automation of production process is actively expanding for the purpose of the cost reduction and quality assurance. Among these, automatic tracking of the product along the whole process of the production is also important topic. Typically this is done by adopting OCR technology. Conventional OCR technology operates well on the rather good quality of the image like as printed characters on the paper. In industrial application, IDs are marked on the metal surface, and this cause the height difference between background material and character. Illumination systems that guarantee an image with good quality may be a solution, but it is rather difficult to design such an illumination system. This paper proposes an algorithm for the recognition of vehicle’ ID characters using edge projection and PCA (Principal Component Analysis). Proposed algorithm robustly operates under illumination change using the same parameters. Experimental results show the feasibility of the proposed algorithm.

This paper presents a method to segment semiconductor wafer ID on poor quality images. The method is based on multiple templates and normalized gray-level correlation (NGC) method. If the lighting condition is not so good and hence, we can not control the image quality, target image to be inspected presents poor quality ill and it is not easy to identify and then recognize the ill characters. Conventional several method to segment the interesting ill regions fails on the bad quality images. In this paper, we propose a multiple template method, which uses combinational relation of multiple templates from model templates to match several characters of the inspection images. To find out the optimal solution of multiple template model in ill regions, we introduce newly-developed snake algorithm. Experimental results using images from real FA environment are presented.

In this paper, a new simple control method for active power filter which can realized the complete compensation of the harmonic currents is proposed In the proposed scheme, a compensating current reference generator employing lossless resonato implemented by a DSP(Digital Signal Processor) is introduced. Deadbeat control is employed to contro the active power filter The switching pulse width based SVM(Space Vector Modulation) is adopted so that the current of acttve power filter is been exactly equal to its reference at the next sampling Instant To compensate the computation delay of digital controller, the prediction of current is achieved by the current observer with deadbeat response
