Jeju, the biggest island in Korea, was registered as a World Natural Heritage in 2007. Recently, it was also voted as one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature. The need for academic awareness and tourist values on Jeju Island are understood. Gal-ot, one of the ten symbols for Jeju, is known for working clothes in general, despite its potential for cultural products because of its regional uniqueness and useful functional advantages. The authors conducted a com- prehensive literature review and researched market trends of Gal-ot stores in Jeju to present development directions for cultural goods and to contribute to local economic improvement. Most stores were located in a semi-residential area and Jeju-si in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. Most products were not available for sale due to difficulties in the pro- duction process and online utilization. High prices and similar color, fabric and style hurt competitiveness. Various expe- riencing programs of Gal-ot and persimmon dyeing were necessary to expand the main target from residents to tourists. Also, marketing strategies using the internet and design plans reflecting current trends were needed. This study would contribute to prepare developmental projects of cultural product and result in economical advantages on Jeju Island.

The effect of the out-of-plane retardation (R th ) of a substrate film on the viewing-angle dependence of transmittance (TR) in a display device was investigated. When the polarization state of input light deviates from the transmission axis of the polarizer, R th of the substrate film induces inhomogeneous viewing-angle dependence of TR. The inhomogeneity of TR gets worse for greater values of of R th . The inhomogeneous TR profile can be eliminated by inserting compensation films, which convert the input polarization state to the linear polarization state parallel to the transmission axis of the polarizer.
Malignant Anal Sac Melanoma in a Dog

A five-year-old female Yorkshire Terrier dog presented with a perianal mass. Fine needle aspiration revealed that the mass comprised two different types of cells: hepatoid epithelial cells and melanin-containing melanocytes. Histopathological examination confirmed perianal gland adenoma with malignant melanoma. Evidence of metastasis was found on thoracic radiography with soft-tissue densities observed within the pulmonary parenchyma. The dog survived for three months after diagnosis of malignant melanoma. This report describes the clinical findings, diagnostics used, cytological and histopathological findings, and the potential prognosis for a dog diagnosed with malignant anal sac melanoma.
Comparative Proteomic Profile of Canine Uterus with Pyometra

Pyometra, a common disorder in intact bitches, can lead to canine sepsis. Identification of biomarkers for sources of infection in the uterus using two-dimensional electrophoresis (2-DE)-mass spectrometry (MS) analysis may enable the discovery of novel diagnostic markers of sepsis. Toward this end, surgically resected uterus samples from four bitches (three pyometra and one healthy) were randomly selected for 2-DE-MS, which identified 32 differentially expressed proteins, including seven inflammatory proteins, five non-inflammatory proteins, and 20 functionally unknown proteins. Despite the limited information on canine uterus proteomics, we suggest the potential use of differentially expressed uterus proteins as candidate biomarkers to discover targets to attenuate inflammation in pyometra. Further identification of the functionally unknown proteins is warranted.

Due to the outbreak and transmission of COVID-19, people's worries and loss in various fields are increasing, and it poses negative impact on life. The purpose of this research is to clarify the properties of subjective well-being, and enhance the understanding of subjective well-being to provide its theoretical basis. Research was conducted by using Walker and Avant’s conceptual analysis process. From January 2005 to June 2020, ‘subject well-being’ as used as the keyword to be searched on Korean and International literature in KERIS(www.riss4u.net) and PubMed. The results showed that the properties of subject well-being were positive mind, stress management, satisfaction, and health. Antecedents were health status, relaxed state of mind, psychological stress state, and events in life. The consequences were confirmed to be the quality of life, life satisfaction, and promotion of well-being. This study confirms the concept of subject well-being, to provide a cornerstone of the nursing intervention program development and further research. We propose that the concept of subject well-being to be dispersed and its related research may be facilitated through this study, which enables future advanced studies such as tool development for measuring subject well-being or intervention studies for verification purposes. 코로나 19의 발생과 확산으로 많은 사람들의 불안과 다양한 분야의 손실이 증가하고 있으며 삶에 부정적 영향을 미치고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 주관적 웰빙에 대한 개념의 속성을 명확히 규명하여, 주관적 웰빙에 대한 이해를 높이고 이론적 근거를 마련하고자 한다. 연구방법은 walker & Avant의 분석 방법을 적용하였다. 2005년 1월부터 2020년 6월까지 주관적 웰빙, subject well-being을 주제어로 하여 한국학술정보원과 PubMed에서 국·내외 문헌을 검색하였다. 연구결과 본 연구에 의한 주관적 웰빙의 속성은 긍정적인 마음, 스트레스 관리, 만족감, 건강으로 확인되었다. 선행요인은 건강상태, 편안한 마음 상태, 심리적 스트레스 상태, 삶의 사건이다. 결과는 삶의 질, 삶의 만족, 웰빙 증진으로 확인되었다. 본 연구는 주관적 웰빙에 대한 개념을 확인하여 주관적 웰빙 향상을 위한 간호 중재 프로그램 개발과 추후 연구의 기반을 제공한다는 의의가 있다. 본 연구를 통해 주관적 웰빙에 대한 개념이 널리 확산되고 연구가 촉진되어, 주관적 웰빙을 측정 할 수 있는 도구 개발 및 검증을 위한 중재 연구 등 보다 진보된 후속 연구를 제언한다.
HER2 status in breast cancer: changes in guidelines and complicating factors for interpretation

Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) protein overexpression and/or HER2 gene amplification is found in about 20% of invasive breast cancers. It is a sole predictive marker for treatment benefits from HER2 targeted therapy and thus, HER2 testing is a routine practice for newly diagnosed breast cancer in pathology. Currently, HER2 immunohistochemistry (IHC) is used for a screening test, and in situ hybridization is used as a confirmation test for HER2 IHC equivocal cases. Since the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO)/College of American Pathologists (CAP) guidelines on HER2 testing was first released in 2007, it has been updated to provide clear instructions for HER2 testing and accurate determination of HER2 status in breast cancer. During HER2 interpretation, some pitfalls such as intratumoral HER2 heterogeneity and increase in chromosome enumeration probe 17 signals may lead to inaccurate assessment of HER2 status. Moreover, HER2 status can be altered after neoadjuvant chemotherapy or during metastatic progression, due to biologic or methodologic issues. This review addresses recent updates of ASCO/CAP guidelines and factors complicating in the interpretation of HER2 status in breast cancers.
