본 연구에서는 고지방식이로 유발된 비만 쥐의 골격근에서 유산소 운동과 레스베라트롤 투여가 미토콘드리아 생합성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 4주령 C57BL/6의 수컷 쥐를 이용하여, 일반 식이 그룹(NC, n=10), 고지방식이 그룹(HR, n=10), 레스베라트롤 투여와 고지방식이 그룹(HRe, n=10), 유산소 운동 그룹(HE, n=10)으로 분류하였다. 유산소 운동은 16주 동안 40~60 min/day 동안 10-14m/min, 0% grade의 강도로 주당 4회 트레드밀 운동을 실시하였고, 레스베라트롤은 16주 동안 1일 1회, 주당 4회 체중 당 25 mg/kg을 투여하였다. COX-IV mRNA 발현은 NC와 HC 그룹 간에 유의한 차이가 있었으며(p<0.05), HE 그룹의 SIRT-3, PGC-1α 및 COX-IV mRNA 발현은 HC 및 HRe 그룹에 비해 유의하게 증가하였다(p<0.05). 또한, 오직 HE 그룹의 PGC-1α 및 COX-IV mRNA의 발현만이 HC 그룹에 비해 유의하게 증가하였다(p<0.05). 이상의 결과를 종합해보면, 고지방식이로 유발된 비만 쥐는 골격근에서 미토콘드리아 생합성 유전자 발현에 영향을 나타내지 않는 것으로 보인다. 하지만, 유산소 운동 훈련은 고지방식이로 유발된 비만 쥐의 골격근에서 미토콘드리아 생합성 유전자 발현을 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과는 레스베라트롤 투여가 아닌 유산소 운동이 고지방식이로 유도된 쥐의 골격근에서 미토콘드리아 생합성에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 것을 시사한다. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of aerobic exercise and resveratrol supplementation on mitochondrial biogenesis in skeletal muscle of high-fat diet-induced obese mice. In this study, 4-wk-old C57BL/6 male mice were divided into four groups, with 10 animals in each group: a normal diet group (NC), high-fat diet group (HC), high-fat diet group with resveratrol supplementation (HRe), and high-fat diet GROUP with exercise (HE). Aerobic exercise was performed on a treadmill for 40~60 min/d at 10~14 m/min, 0% grade, 4 d/wk for 16 wk. Resveratrol (25 mg/kg bodyweight) was administrated once a day, 4 d/wk for 16 wk. There was a significance difference in COX-IV mRNA expression in the NC group versus that in the HC group (p<0.05). The expression of the SIRT-3, PGC-1a, and COX-IV mRNA genes in the HE group increased significantly as compared with the expression of these genes in the HC and HRe groups (p<0.05). These results indicated that high- fat diet- induced obesity did not affect mitochondria biogenesis gene expression in skeletal muscle. In contrast, aerobic exercise training increased the expression of mitochondria biogenesis gene expression in skeletal muscle in high-fat diet-induced obese mice. These findings suggested that aerobic exercise but not resveratrol supplementation had a positive effect on mitochondrial biogenesis in skeletal muscle in high-fat diet-induced obese mice.
점증부하 운동 시 니코틴 패치의 사용이 대학생의 운동 능력과 심혈관 반응에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 흡연자에게 있어 금연 시 가장 많이 사용되는 니코틴 패치가 운동능력과 심혈관 반응에 미치는 영향을 규명하기 위해 흡연자 9명을 대상으로 니코틴 패치 사용 전과 후에 운동지속시간, 호흡변인 및 심혈관 반응변화를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 분당 호흡수와 운동지속시간의 유의한 증가 없이 최대산소섭취량, 산소섭취량, 1회 호흡량, 분당 환 기량이 유의하게 증가 하였다(p<. 05). 니코틴에 대한 내성이 있는 흡연자에게서 패치 사용 후 운동을 할 때에는 비흡연자들에게서 보이는 운동능력이나 심혈관 반응과는 다른 결과를 보이며, 향후의 연구에서는 니코틴에 대한 내성이 있는 흡연자를 대상으로 지속 적인 니코틴 패치의 사용이 운동 수행 시 운동능력과 심혈관계에 대한 위험성을 파악하고, 흡연 시기와 기간에 따른 니코틴 내성 및 투여 량에 관한 연구와 니코틴 패치사용 시 비만이나 고혈압, 당뇨 등의 성인 질환에 대해서 복합적으로 인체 내에 미치는 영향에 대해 장, 단점을 연구하여 운동능력과 심혈관 반응에 도움이 될 수 있는 지속적인 연구가 필요할 것으로 여겨진다. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of nicotine patch on exercise capacity and cardiovascular responses during graded exercise. Subjects were 9 healthy in smoker men(age 21.00±1.17 years; duration of smoking 4.22±2.11 years; number of cigarettes per day 16.78±1.92), All subjects completed a graded exercise test for pre-experiment(before nicotine patch) and post-experiment(after nicotine patch) in same subject. Transdermal nicotine patch of 38mg used the day before post-experiment at 22:00. The collected data were analyzed by Paired t-test. The results were as follows: 1. There was no significant difference the exercise duration time between before nicotine patch and after nicotine patch (p>.05). 2. There was no significant difference in resting heart rate and blood pressure between before nicotine patch and after nicotine patch. 3. There was significant difference the heart rate (HR) during exercise 2 section after the nicotine patch (p<.05). 4. There were significant differences oxygen intake(VO2) of exercise 1, 2, 3 sections, and minute ventilation(VE) of exercise 2, 3, 4 sections, and tidal volume(VT) of exercise 1, 4 sections and maximal oxygen intakes(VO2max) during graded exercise after nicotine patch(p<.05). 5. There were significant differences systolic blood pressure after exercise 5minutes, and myocardial oxygen consumption (MVO2) after nicotine patch (p<.05). The results of this study suggest that no difference tidal volume (VT) increased maximal oxygen intakes (VO2max) during graded exercise after nicotine patch are negative effects on young male adults` exercise capacity.

Thermal storage plays an important role in building energy saving, which is greatly assisted by the incorporation of latent heat storage in building materials. A phase change material is a substance with a high heat of fusion which, melting and solidifying at a certain temperature, can be storing and releasing large amount of energy. Heat is stored or released when the material changes from solid to liquid. Integration of building materials incorporating PCMs into the building envelope can result in increased efficiency of the built environment. The aim of this research is to identify thermal performance of PCMs impregnated building materials which is applied to interior of building such as gypsum and red clay. In order to analyze thermal performance of phase change materials, test-cell experiments and simulation analysis were carried out. The results show that micro-encapsulated PCM has an effect to maintain a constant indoor temperature using latent heat through the test-cell experiments. PCM wallboard makes it possible to reduce the fluctuation of room temperature and heating and cooling load by using EnergyPlus simulation program. Phase change material can store solar energy directly in buildings. Increasing the heat capacity of a building is capable of improving human comfort by decreasing the frequency of indoor air temperature swings so that the interior air temperature is closer to the desired temperature for a long period of time.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the cooling energy reduction performance of PCM wallboard in apartment buildings by using ESP-r simulation program. A PCM wallboard, which is constructed from the micro-encapsulated phase change materials as a uniform mixture with the conventional gypsum, is applied on the inside wall surfaces in the simulation model. The results show that the application of such materials for lightweight construction makes it possible to reduce fluctuation of inner temperature and energy consumption. Considering cooling load reduction, PCM designed whose solidification temperature close to the cooling set point temperature is appropriate in aparment buildings.
손의 굽힘과 폄 동작 상상과 ERD(Event Related Desynchronization)/ERS(Event Related Synchronization)의 상관성에 관한 연구

This study was to identify the possibility of proposing BCI (Brain Computer Interface) for the severely disabled. To do so, we tried to identify ERD and ERS caused by imagining hand movements: open and close the right hand. Five undergraduate and graduate students of Sangmyung University (male: 3, female: 2) participated in the experiment. Instructions for envisaging the hand movements were displayed on a 17 inch LCD monitor. The experimental sequences were designed as follows: rest time of 20 seconds was imposed before the task. Then, the tests were performed under two sets of conditions: 30 test and 10 training sessions. In each test and training session, 3 seconds and 5 seconds was assigned as stimulus and rest time respectively. ERD and ERS were extracted from the β(13-30㎐) and μ(8-12㎐) wave area under two different hand movements. A Mann Whitney U test was performed to identify significant difference between the two hand movements. As a result, a significant difference was observed between opening and closing the right hand (p < 0.05). The results imply that it is possible to utilize ERD and ERS signals for helping the disabled to interact with their environments. The proposed method is expected to be a framework in developing an interactive system for the disabled.
