Automobile company tries to reduce the inertia of powertrain to increase the fuel efficiency and increase the engine power every year to make the high speed driving possible at f'-Ill load condition. These cause the torsional vibration of powertrain. But the demand about ride comfort improvement increased constantly. so torsional vibration of powertrain became a emergency problem to be cured.<br/> This study is a basic research to reduce the torsional vibration of powertrain at driving condition. First. the heavy duty powertrain is characterized as a vibrating system. Its natural frequencies and mode shapes are reviewed. Second. By comparison of simulation results and experiment results. propriety of developed model is verified. Finally. the counterplan which can reduce the torsional vibration by mode analysis and parameter modification is suggested.

In recent year. As the demand about low vibration and noise vehicle is increased constantly. Automobile companies try to a lot of thing to achieve this demand. Gear rattle vibration became a emergency problem to be cured at idling.<br/> There are two kinds method to reduce idle gear rattle vibration. One is optimization of clutch damper design para meted stiffness. hysteresis torque. preload). the other is system parameter modification (inertia. drag torque, backlash). But these methods are impossible to estimate influence rate of each gearpair Con the idle gear rattle vibration.<br/> In this study. 14 degrees of freedom nonlinear model is developed to analysis influence rate of each gearpair on the idle gear rattle vibration and the counterplan to design low vibration transmission is suggested.
High temperature flow behavior of extruded ZK60A alloy

Tensile tests were conducted on a continuous-casted ZK 60A after extrusion at a range of strain rates at temperatures from 473 to 623K. It is shown that the alloy exhibits a quasi-superplastic behavior with a maximum recorded elongation of ~250% at 523K when testing with an initial strain rate of 1.0 x 10<SUP>-5</SUP> s<SUP>-l</SUP>. The experiments give a strain rate sensitivity of ~0.3-0.4 and an activation energy of ~108 kJ/mol. From the investigation, a high-temperature flow of the ZK 60A is controlled by a dislocation viscous glide process.

The main torsional vibration source of the driveline is the fluctuation of the engine torque. The gear rattle is impacts generating in the backlash of the free gear due to this torsional vibration. Optimization of the clutch torsional characteristic is one of the effective methods to reduce the idle gear rattle. Many researches have been reported on this problem but only few of them give sufficient consideration to the clutch design parameters and drag torque.<br/> This paper pays attention to the clutch design parameter, drag torque, gear backlash and fluctuation of engine torque to reduce the idle gear rattle with, computer simulation.<br/>
