한국노동패널조사에서 표본이탈에 대한 통계적 모형화 및 활용

패널조사에서는 모집단을 대표하는 표본을 추출하여 일정 기간에 걸쳐 주기적으로 반복 조사한다. 그러나 시간이 경과함에 따라 응답거부, 이사 등의 이유로 표본이탈 (sample attrition, 패널이탈)이 발생하게 되고, 이로 인해 수집 자료는 이탈 편의(attrition bias)를 갖게 된다. 특히, 가구 이탈이 발생하는 경우에는 가구원 전체의 이탈을 뜻하므로 개인 이탈보다 큰 문제를 야기할 수 있다. 본 연구원에서는 한국노동패널조사에서의 패널 가구 이탈을 전통적 분류방법인 로지스틱 회귀와 비모수적 기계학습 방법인 나무형 분류 및 신경망으로 모형화 한다. 또한 어떤 패널가구들에 대해 관리를 강화해야 하는지 CRM( 고객관계관리, customer relationship management)적 측면에서 방안을 강구한다. We studied the sample attrition problem in Korean Labor and Income Panel Study (KLIPS) 1998-2000, and proposed a tree-structured classification model after comprehensive comparison of various models and evaluation on test datasets. Based on the statistical model, and efficient panel management scheme is proposed.
최근의 기상환경 변화에 따른 가을보리의 수량구성요소 및 생육단계 변화

This study examines the relationships between atmospheric influences and grain yields including yield components as well as growth stages. Data used in this study were collected from the long-term field experiment at Suwon for the period between 1974 and 2000. Mean grain yield of barley cultivar, Olbori, for the recent 14 years(1987~2000) with warm winters was higher by 0.42 ton per hectare than that for 27 years(1974~2000) at Suwon as a result of the higher numbers of spikes per unit land area and grains per spike. However, the 1000-grain weight decreased by about 0.6 gram. Mean first day of regrowth for the recent 14 years was earlier by five days than that for 27 years. Also, beginning date of regrowth was positively correlated with that of heading and ripening. Mean period of ripening for the years of 1987 through 2000 was similar to that for 27 years, but mean period of overwintering was shorter by nine days than that for 27 years. On the other hand, mean periods of seedling and tillering were longer by three days than those for 27 years. Meteorological elements at various growth stages affecting grain yield of winter barley were air temperature (positive correlation) and sunshine hour (negative correlation) of overwintering stage, precipitation (negative correlation) of tillering stage, and potential evapotranpiration (positive correlation) of tillering stage. The 1000-grain weight was not significantly correlated with the meteorological elements. Culm length was negatively influenced by high temperature and dry weather situations during the ripening period, but spike length was positively influenced. Overall, it was found that grain yield of barley, cultivar Olbori, was influenced by meteorological elements of overwintering, tillering, and ripening stages.

초등학교에서 영어교육이 매우 강조되고 중요시되고 있으나 아직은 많은 교사들이 적지 않은 어려움을 느끼면서 수업을 진행하고 있다. 이러한 어려움의 하나는 아이들의 흥미를 유발시키는 동시에 교육효과가 있는 적절한 단어를 선정하는 일이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 초등학교 학생들의 어휘 선호도와 학년별 단어 선호도 차이를 비교하기 위한 통계적인 분석을 하고자 한다. 이를 통하여 좀 더 효율적인 초등학교 영어학습을 위한 단어 선택의 어려움을 조금이나마 덜고자 한다.

Background/Aims: Little is known about the treatment or outcomes of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) complicated with bile duct invasion. Methods: A total of 247 consecutive HCC patients with bile duct invasion at initial diagnosis were retrospectively included. Results: The majority of patients had Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer (BCLC) stage C HCC (66.8%). Portal vein tumor thrombosis was present in 166 (67.2%) patients. Median survival was 4.1 months. Various modalities of treatment were initially employed including surgical resection (10.9%), repeated transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) (42.5%), and conservative management (42.9%). Among the patients with obstructive jaundice (n=88), successful biliary drainage was associated with better overall survival rate. Among the patients with BCLC stage C, overall survival differed depending on the initial treatment for HCC; surgical resection, TACE, systemic chemotherapy, and conservative management showed overall survival rates of 11.5, 6.0 ,2.4, and 1.6 months, respectively. After adjusting for confounders, surgical resection and repeated TACE were significant prognostic factors for HCC patients with bile duct invasion (hazard ratios 0.47 and 0.39, Ps <0.001, respectively). Conclusions: The survival of HCC patients with bile duct invasion at initial diagnosis is generally poor. However, aggressive treatments for HCC such as resection or biliary drainage may be beneficial therapeutic options for patients with preserved liver function
담관 침범 및 간문맥혈전증을 동반한 간세포암 환자의 효과적인 치료

Bile duct invasion of hepatocellular caricinoma (HCC) is rare, ranging from 1.2% to 9%. Moreover, the standard treatment of HCC with bile duct invasion is not yet established. We report a case of HCC with bile duct invasion and portal vein thrombosis which was successfully treated by trasarterial chemoembolization and radiotherapy. A 38-year-old female patient visited our hospital due to right upper quadrant pain. The level of total and direct bilirubin was 6.8 and 4.0 mg/dL, respectively. Her blood test showed HBs Ag positive and the level of alphafetoprotein was 43,000 ng/mL. Her CT scan revealed lobulating hypervascular mass involving right hepatic lobe, portal vein and both intrahepatic ducts. We performed endoscopic biliary drainage using biliary stent. She had been diagnosed as HCC on endobiliary biopsy. She was treated with radiotherapy (RT) to portal vein thrombosis, and seven transarterial chemoembolizations. After of all, we carried out radiotherapy to hepatic vein thrombosis and residual HCC near hepatic vein. After the RT, she has been taken care at outpatient clinic without evidence of recurrence during 8 months.

Background/Aims: There are few available data regarding the association between the single nucleotidepolymorphisms (SNPs) of the gene encoding interleukin 28B (IL28B) and a sustained virologic response (SVR) topeginterferon (PEG-IFN) plus ribavirin (RBV) therapy in Korean chronic hepatitis C patients. Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study of 156 patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection whoreceived combination treatment of PEG-IFN plus RBV. Blood samples from these patients were analyzed to identifythe IL28B SNPs at rs12979860, rs12980275, rs8099917, and rs8103142. Association analyses were performed to evaluatethe relationships between each IL28B SNP and SVRs. Results: Seventy six patients with HCV genotype 1 and 80 with genotype non-1 were enrolled. The frequencies ofrs12979860 CC and CT genotypes were 90.4% and 9.6%, respectively; those of rs12980275 AA and AG genotypes were87.2% and 12.8%, respectively; those of rs8099917 TT and TG genotypes were 92.3% and 7.7%, respectively; and thoseof rs8103142 TT and CT genotypes were 90.4% and 9.6%, respectively. Among the patients with HCV genotype 1, theSVR rates were 69.7% and 80.0% for rs12979860 CC and CT, respectively (P=0.71). Among the HCV genotype non-1patients, SVR rates were 88.0% and 100% for rs12979860 CC and CT (P=1.00), respectively. Conclusions: Genotypes of the IL28B SNP that are known to be favorable were present in most of the Korean patientswith chronic hepatitis C in this study. Moreover, the IL28B SNP did not influence the SVR rate in either the HCVgenotype 1 or non-1 patients. Therefore, IL28B SNP analysis might be not useful for the initial assessment, predictionof treatment outcomes, or treatment decision-making of Korean chronic hepatitis C patients.

Hepatitis B virus X (HBx) protein has been known to play an important role in development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The aim of this study is to find out whether HBx protein expression affects antiproliferative effect of an epidermal growth factor receptortyrosine kinase (EGFR-TK) inhibitor and a MEK inhibitor in HepG2 and Huh-7 cell lines. We established HepG2 and Huh-7 cells transfected stably with HBx gene. HBx protein expression increased pERK and pAkt expression as well as β-catenin activity in both cells. Gefitinib (EGFR-TK inhibitor) inhibited pERK and pAkt expression and β-catenin activity in both cells. Selumetinib (MEK inhibitor) reduced pERK level and β-catenin activity but pAkt expression was rather elevated by selumetinib in these cells. Reduction of pERK levels was much stronger with selumetinib than gefitinib in both cells. The antiproliferative efficacy of selumetinib was more potent than that of gefitinib. However, the antiproliferative effect of gefitinib, as well as selumetinib, was not different between cell lines with or without HBx expression. Signal pathway activation by HBx might not be strong enough to attenuate the antiproliferative effect of EGFR-TK inhibitor. Future experiments are needed to understand the role of HBx protein expression in HCC treatment using molecular targeting agent.
