The purpose of this study is to provide the alternatives how to help lay volunteers` in churches and prevent burn-out from them in order to investigate the process and experience of being burn-out from church volunteers in the phenomenological context. Colaizzi`s research, one of the phenomenological researches, is applied to achieve the purpose of this study. Fourteen participants, three men and eleven women were recruited from different character. The experiment results in 33 themes, 11 theme clusters and 4 categories in inductive ways. 11 Theme clusters are ``being physically and mentally exhausted``, ``being lack of faith and ability``, ``difficulties in relationship``, ``oppression``, ``abandoning the service``, ``sharing difficulties with others``, ``having work effectively``, ``feeling worthwhile for their own mission``, ``being restored by faith``, ``having rest and time to recharge themselves` and ``being helped from counseling.`` And inductive 4 categories are ``the cause of burn-out,`` ``behavior from burn-out,`` ``the cause in order to get less exhausted,`` ``the ways to overcome.`` This research suggest that Korean lay volunteers could prevent the burn-out from their work in churches, so to overcome effectively and provide substantial alternatives.

Counselors must make an effort to investigate the dysfunction of counselee`s and make their core personality healthy. If the purpose of counseling is the change of the personality of the counselee, the counselor must know what is right personality or what constitutes a mature personality. Therefore, this study researches mature personality attributes on the Biblical perspective and general psychological concept. The general psychological concept is on the basis of Gordon Allport, Carl Rogers, Abraham Maslow and Erich Fromm`s theory. Biblical mature personality is on the ideas of Dan Montgomery, Lewis J. Sherrill, and Sim Soomyung to investigate personality traits of mature character of Christians. This study integrates the writer`s clinical and academic experience with mature personality to conclude the following: First, the mature person has a understanding without the grace of God, he can not live one moment. Second, they love others and self on the basis of the agape. Third, they are seeking the integration of whole person centered with spirituality and the knowledge, emotion, etc. Fourth, they have harmonies with persona, inner and outer character on the basis of spiritual maturity. Fifth, they respect self and others with the divine dignity from the God. Sixth, they can evaluate their past and present and have plans for their future with clear objectives. Seventh, they have a flexible and open mind allowing them to comprehend the reality around them. Eighth, their biggest goal is to follow God`s will on the Bible. This study will be useful to raise mature Christians.

Generally, the aim of education is to cultivate one`s personality at the most. As, however, technology had been grown along with material prosperity, traditional personality-based education have been turned into practical & scientific knowledge- based education. The changes in social structure and education have destroyed traditional value system, therefore resulted in success-centered life seeking after material prosperity and made confuse people with crisis of their value system. In current society, schools and institutions educate people based on the pursuit of success. Although a person seems successful socially and financially, but is very selfish and bad, we often eyewitness him/her involved with various corruption, absurdity, and iniquity and finally hurt his/her own life. In order to solve this kind of problem, educational institutions have recognized and re-examined personality education, diagnosed its symptom, discussed and searched for the ways to cure in different field. The previous personality studies have been almost related with one side of ethics education. In contrast, in this study, I investigate the concept of personality in the view of theology and psychology and psychological object in the personality education. Also I integrate both of them into true personality concept based on the biblical value and search for 3 elements which are masked personality, internal personality, and interpersonal personality, for establishing healthy personality concept. After considering for those elements, it would be focusing on the live practices or modeling within family and community and looking for the ways to apply into reality since personality education have little effect on only education itself and it has been better to practice in everyday circumstances. I expect to go on better research or study on the personality to be revised and enlarged further.

한국 사회의 이혼 증가 원인 분석과 그 대안에 관한 연구

When 20th century had came, Korean society had experienced rapid and radical change, so to challenge a society`s basic unit, a family. Among those challenges, the most serious result would be breaking up families with sudden increasing of divorce rate. Korean society`s divorce rate had risen enormously from 1980`s through 1990`s and the interesting factors toward the background of divorce rate showed the increase of women`s divorce request, the elderly divorce increasing, and various reason for divorce. We thought of individuals` various roles along with social structure`s change, women`s educational or economic empowerment, individualism raging as current family`s increasing divorce rate factors. These changes result in the more marred couples` needs get bigger for affection, sexual satisfaction, family member`s intimacy, the less balanced families. Since family member`s emotional need had not been satisfied in order to weaken their relationships, the tendency toward dismantling a strong sense of family has been enlarged. What would christianity`s responsibility for those social structure`s change? It is evident that the divorced or the non-divorced does not matter with being children of God. Nonetheless, a human being`s desire would not be the life`s purpose and we should think of in order to actualize God`s will and to practice not ego-centric love, but you-centric love as christian. In this Korean society increasing divorce rate, we as christian should pursue God`s will toward us based on the love He loves us. Therefore, this study has analyzed reason for increasing divorce rate and tries to find alternatives to decrease divorce rate ultimately.
