Effect of vanadium pentoxide mixed PEDOT:PSS for quantum-dot light-emitting diodes

We demonstrated improved hole injection properties using PEDOT:PSS mixed with inorganic vanadium pentoxide (V<sub>2</sub>O<sub>5</sub>) for high performance quantum-dot light-emitting diodes (QLEDs). Devices were fabricated from each mixing ratio and annealing temperature to form a film for smooth charge injection. Effective hole injection characteristic of V<sub>2</sub>O<sub>5</sub> mixed PEDOT:PSS hole injection layer (HIL) was observed at the hole-only-devices (HODs). The leakage current of the fabricated QLEDs was reduced. As a result, much improved efficiency was obtained in QLED devices using V<sub>2</sub>O<sub>5</sub> (10:1 V/V) mixed PEDOT:PSS annealed at 150°C. The maximum current efficiency was 13.9 cd/A and the EQE was 3.1%, both of which increased by more than 600% compared to the control device. More importantly, the lifetime of the devices was increased due to the mixing of V2O5. These results demonstrate that transition metal oxide mixed PEDOT:PSS is an alternative to simple organic HIL for high efficiency and stable QLEDs.

고성능 스마트기기의 보급과 모바일 사용자들의 고품질 컨텐츠 수요가 증가하면서 급증하는 모바일 데이터 트래픽을 수용하기 위해 소형셀을 통한 네트워크 용량 증대가 가장 현실적인 방안으로 고려되고 있다. 이와 더불어 차세대 이동통신 네트워크의 패러다임이 사용자가 인프라 영역 내에 위치해야 통신 및 서비스를 제공받던 인프라 중심에서, 통신 및 제반 서비스 환경이 사용자를 중심으로 구축되고 운영되는 사용자 중심으로 전환되면서 사용자를 따라 움직이는 이동 소형셀에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있다. 본고에서는 ETRI에서 개발 중인 5G(5th Generation) 이동셀 개념 및 주요 기술을 소개하고, 관련 3GPP 표준화 동향 및 국내외 기술개발 동향을 소개한다.

High-luminance, efficient quantum-dot light-emitting diodes (QLEDs) have been achieved by optimizing the balance between the hole injection layer (HIL) and the hole transport layer (HTL). Different concentrations of vanadium oxide (V$_2$O$_5$) and poly[(9,9-dioctylfluorenyl-2,7-diyl)-co-(4,4'-(4-sec-butylphenyl)diphenylamine)] (TFB) solutions were used to form the efficient HIL and HTL, respectively, for the QLEDs. The hole injection and transport behavior was characterized by using hole-only devices (HODs). The QLEDs, which were prepared with 0.5 wt.\% of V$_2$O$_5$ and 0.1 wt.\% of TFB as HIL and HTL, respectively, showed a maximum current efficiency of 2.27 cd$\cdot$A$^{-1}$ and a maximum luminance of 71,260 cd$\cdot$m$^{-2}$. Moreover, the turn-on voltage of the device was as low as 2.2 V due to the efficient carrier injection and transport. The results provide useful information for fabricating high-performance QLEDs.

Background : the technical modality of esophagogastric anastomosis plays an important part in the factors leading to anastomotic leakage and stricture. Objective : The objective of this study was to compare the leakage and stricture rates between the different anastomosis techniques. Materials and Methods : A retrospective study was undertaken in the patients with esophageal cancer who underwent a esophagectomy. Hand-sewn anastomosis was performed in one layer with interrupted sutures(Manual group). The stapler group was divided into two subgroups, such as PCEEA group and Endo-GIA group. Results : The differences of preoperative patient profiles between the groups were not significant. Overall mortality fates were 5% in manual group, 5% in PCEEA group and 11.5% in Endo-GIA group. Fewer anastomotic leakage occurred in manual group(5%) than in PCEEA group(10%) or in Endo-GIA group(15.4%). The postoperative stricture rate was higher in PCEEA group(35%) than in manual group(5%) or in Endo-GIA group(0%) Conclusion : Statistically, there were no significant differences in the anastomotic leakage and stricture rates between the hand-sewn and mechanical anastomosis. But the stricture rate was lower in the group using the linear stapling device and the leakage rate was lower in the hand-sewn group than the other groups.

Infantile lobar emphysema is a pulmonary hyperinflation state that has the clinical features of an air block syndrome characterized by bronchial cartilaginous abnormalities or unknown origin. Left upper lobe was affected in most of the reported infantile lobar emphysema. Infantile lobar emphyema is divided into two categories. e.g., congenital and acquired. We have experienced a case of left lower lobe involved infantile lobar emphysema which had undergone left pneumonectomy. She had progressive signs of tension accompanied by mediastinal displacement, ventilatory and circulatory failure in infant period. Because of the combined left upper lobe hypoplasia, left pneumonectomy was performed. And there was no cartiliginous abnormality in pathologic finding. This is the first domestic case which was affected in the lower lobe and successful surgical repaired.

Superior mesenteric artery aneurysm is the third most common lesion and comprises approximately 5.5 % of all visceral artery aneurysms. The first successful repair was performed by DeBakey and Cooley in 1949. Since then, more than 100 cases have been reported. Fifty to sixty percent of these aneurysms are mycotic in origin. Other less frequent causes include arteriosclerosis, trauma, and medial degeneration. The operations are bypass with autologous tissue or with artificial vascular graft and aneurysmorrhaphy. We have experienced a case of superior mesenteric artery aneurysm which had undergone aneurysmectomy and artificial graft interposition. This is the first domestic case which was successful surgical repaired.

Synovial sarcoma is a malignant soft tissue tumor originated from primitive mesenchymal cell. It occurs primarily in the paraarticular regions, parapharyngeal regions and abdominal wall. We experienced a case of intrapulmonary synovial sarcoma which was the first case originated from the lung and confirmed postoperatively.
