Recently the number of vehicle has increased in urban area, and it is believed that vehicle is one of the greenhouse gas emission sources. But the greenhouse gas emission from vehicle has been high uncertainty due to the investigation of a lack of activity data and emission factors in Korea. So, in this study, the greenhouse gas emission from road source is estimated by VKT(vehicle kilometers travelled). And Tier 3 methodology is calculated from road source. As the results, the nationwide CO₂ emissions from vehicle by Tier 3 method is calculated as 61,430 kton/yr in 2008. The contribution ratio of passenger car emission is estimated as 55% in road transport sector.

Method of Tier2 is calculated by the CO₂ emission factor and calorific values for intrinsic carbon content of domestic fuel. However, until the present, we have been applying the CO₂ emission factor of IPCC(Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change) guidelines and calorific values for intrinsic carbon content of domestic fuel to calculate CO₂ emission of Tier2 level. So we think that estimated CO₂ emission is not accurate. In this study, the CO₂ emission factor and calorific values of gasoline, diesel and LPG according to intrinsic carbon content of domestic fuel are developed and be calculated CO₂ emission to be accurate estimation of CO₂ emission. As a results, the CO₂ emission factors of gasoline, diesel and LPG are 72,221㎏/TJ, 73,187㎏/TJ, 66,053㎏/TJ in each. The CO₂ emissions of gasoline, diesel and LPG are also 22,546,595ton, 41,200,441ton, 13,581,060ton in each per year.

Eco driving is considered as one of good solutions for high fuel consumption rate and low concentration of green house gases. It is very important to estimate the effects of driving conditions on the fuel consumption. But there is few research results for the quantitative effect of driving conditions on the fuel saving. This study shows the quantitative fuel- economy of passenger car for 6-kinds of driving mode.
