Objective: The purpose of this study was conducted to investigate indoor air quality in submarine. Method: For the indoor air quality testing in submarine, we investigated nine submarines. Measurement for 1st period was from Jun, 2012 to Jul, 2012 and 2nd period was from Apr, 2013 to May, 2013 and 3rd period was from Jun, 2013 to Jul, 2013 and 4th period was Oct, 2013. Six type 209 submarines and three type 214 submarines were involved. Results: The mean indoor air carbon dioxide(CO2), carbon monoxide(CO), and nitrogen dioxide(NO2) levels of 1st period in submarine were 1932.25 ppm, 21.57 ppm, 0.053 ppm for each other. The result was found to be exceed that recommended in the air quality standards by Ministry of Environment Republic of Korea(KMOE). The mean indoor air CO2, NO2 levels of 2nd and 3rd period were found to be exceed that recommended standards by KMOE. There was CO2 which indoor air quality level exceeds that standards by KMOE for 4th period. Conclusion: It seems that current administration for indoor air quality in submarine is not poor. Persistent concern will be needed.
해군 지휘통제실의 실내 공기 중 라돈 농도에 관한 연구

Objective: The purpose of this study was conducted to investigate indoor air radon level in Naval Cmmand and Control rooms, and through this, to produce a reduction strategy of airbone radon. Method: Alpha track detectors were used to measure air radon level. Measurement for 1st period was from Jun 21, 2011 to Sep 23, 2011 and 2nd period was from Sep 24, 2011 to Dec 27, 2011. Two Naval Command and Control rooms and one non-command building were involved. Results: Mean indoor air radon levels of 1st period were 0.90 pCi/L for Busan, 13.5 pCi/L for Jinhae, 1.16 pCi/L for MMC.. Mean indoor air radon levels of 2nd period were 1.36 pCi/L for Busan, 1.39 pCi/L for Jinhae, 1.17 pCi/L for MMC. There was no area which indoor air radon level exceeds 4 pCi/L. Conclusion: It seems that current administration for indoor air radon is not poor. Persistent concern will be needed.
