ICT를 활용한 픽토그램 지도방안 연구 - 초등학교 4학년을 중심으로

픽토그램을 초등학교 과정에서 지도함으로써 아동들이 생활 속에서 시각디자인을 이해하며 디자인적 사고와 공동사고과정을 체험하고 시각적 의사소통을 효율적으로 할 수 있는 지도 방안을 마련하였다. ICT 교재를 개발하고 이를 응용하여 기초 이해 단계와 한 가지 주제의 픽토그램을 다양하게 제작하는 기초 표현 단계, 자유 주제로 픽토그램을 제작해보는 창의적 표현 단계로 나누어 학교 현장에서 적용하였다. 기초이해 단계에서 개념과 다양한 사례, 그리고 조형 요소 및 원리에 관한 학습을 사전 제작한 컴퓨터 프로그램 자료를 이용함으로써 체계적인 학습을 유도할 수 있었으며, 픽토그램 제작에서 겪게 되는 표현의 어려움을 최소화하여 작품의 완성도를 높일 수 있었다. 기초 표현 단계에서 주제에 대한 효과적인 표현 방법을 모색해 봄으로써 시각적 의사소통의 융통성과 유연성을 신장시키고 창의적인 표현능력으로 연결되는 것으로 현장 적용 결과 나타났다. Use of ICT program for teaching the pictogram in elementary school gives promising results to enhance the understanding of the basic concept of visual design. By using the developed ICT materials in basic inquiry level for investigating the effective methods of expression, the participating students have a wide experience on the versatility and flexibility of the pictogram as a tool of visual communication. Since the participating students are the forth grade of elementary school, the expression skill and the degree of completion is not good enough. However, they are very creative and cooperative during the class hours. It has been concluded that teaching the pictogram by using ICT in elementary school student gives more effective on understanding the relationship between design and human life than higher level students.
