The main purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of maternal control strategies on the relationship between preschoolers` temperament and compliance/noncompliance. A total of 125 mothers with preschoolers aged 3 and 4 years participated in this study. Preschoolers` temperament was reported by mothers. Maternal control strategies and preschoolers` compliance/noncompliance were observed in the laboratory using a clean-up task. There were four major findings. First, preschoolers with higher levels of activity exhibited less compliance, and preschoolers with higher levels of adaptability and activity displayed more noncompliance. Second, preschoolers whose mothers used fewer commands and more compliments displayed more compliance and less noncompliance. Third, mothers who rated their children higher in activity level used more commands with their children. Finally, the use of maternal commands mediated the association between preschoolers` activity level and compliance/noncompliance. When preschoolers` activity level and maternal control strategies were considered together to predict preschoolers` compliance/noncompliance, the relationship between activity level and compliance/noncompliance became nonsignificant. These findings suggest that the effects of temperament on compliance/noncompliance are indirect through maternal control strategies.

In this study, bread was prepared using various amount of 'Fuji' apple juice, and quality and antioxidant properties investigated. Bread was prepared with water, butter, yeast, salt, sugar, wheat flour, skim milk powder and 10, 20 and 30% (w/w) 'Fuji' apple juice. Leavening ability and pH of dough were also investigated. Volume, pH, specific volume, baking-loss rate, chromaticity and texture were investigated as quality properties, whereas the total polyphenol content, ABTS and DPPH radical scavenging activity as the antioxidant properties of bread containing various amount of apple juice. The pH and leavening ability of dough were observed to decrease with increasing amount of apple juice. In the quality properties of bread, pH, volume, specific volume, and baking-loss rate decreased. Regarding chromaticity and texture of bread prepared with increasing amount of 'Fuji' apple juice, L (bright) values at crust and crumb of bread decreased, while hardness, chewiness and gumminess increased. Total polyphenol content increased with increasing amount of apple juice, while DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities showed no significant differences. Consequently, these results support the possible use of apple juice for baking foods in food industry, as addition of apple juice enhances the quality and antioxidant properties of bread.

음행오행 이론에 의하여 사람의 체질을 분류하였으며 오행속성에 근거하여 체질에 따른 성격을 나타내었다. 이 결과를 토대로 이를 감성에 적용하였으며, 감성지수 테스트를 위한 본 실험실에서 정리한 대표적인 질문항목을 제시하였다. 감성지수는 목, 화 토, 금, 수, 상화의 6개의 분야에 대해 각각 긍정적인 질문과 부정적인 질문으로 구성되었다.

Objectives : There is a increasing need to recruit and retain more psychiatrists who can plan and implement organized programs to work with chronic mentally ill patients in community settings. The aim of study is to discover what training is currently in place to prepare psychiatrist for work in "community" or "public" settings. Methods : Survey questionnaires were mailed to 85 residency training directors and 10 leaders of community mental health in 2005. Response rate was 75%. Results : Academic seminar about community mental health were not administered to residents in 63% of training hospitals. Forty one out of 64 training hospitals had community mental health rotation programs, Community mental health center (50%) and day hospital (36%) were the most common type of programs. Few general hospital had affiliation with community mental health programs. The amount of time for clinical rotation varied from less than three months part time to 6 months fulltime, with most frequent form of one day per week for three month in second or third year of psychiatry residents. Conclusion : Further steps are needed to improve residency training curricula and to encourage well qualified psychiatrist to choose careers in community psychiatry.
