It is known that to automate the quantity take-off process enables you to increase the productivity best among the construction business field. However, the limitation of 2D(Two-dimension) CAD System prevented a cost-estimating system which makes the great effects on the quantity take-off process from being developed. This study aims that you can automate both the itemized statements and the quantity take-off process by using commercially available object-oriented CAD system. The commercially available CAD system today does not give us entire satisfaction. This study shows the deduction of the old boundaries of the object-oriented CAD system and the solution of those problems. And it also studied about the quantity take-off process and the automated cost-estimating system that can be used in the simple and plain repair-maintenance work such as the execution drawing which doesn't need the complicated drawings.

The Subject of this research is building integrated library to supported to CAAD of the A.E.C field that is oriented to the environment of integrated design. In this research, we design and implement a new library model as a solution of design-data sharing and multi-displaying that is on the rise among many problems in construction integration. We name this integrated library ACO(Actual Component Object) and using the ACO, we can share data without loss in the fields such as construction, estimation, structure. Together with this, the different expressions along each field provide the solution of sharing both graphic data and non-graphic data. This ACO is a newly conceptualized Library that is able to supply a composite structure to an architect(designer) through the internet-based ACO System. To the ACO System that supplies those ACO service, we introduce the concept of DBMS in design and design administrator, and we investigate the solutions that enable an architect to use this ACO directly on the Web.
구조화 평면 구축을 위한 평면 생성 알고리즘에 관한 연구

The current trend of globalization forces the AEC community to change its practical approach from non-systematic, labor-intensive to systematic one. Based on the paradigm shift from 'drawing' to 'constructing' m the architectural design practice, this paper focused on developing a new type of CAD system which automatically construct and manage well-structured floor plans with minimum geometrical inputs from the designer. The paper also took advantage of the building data model developed from the prior research. The model includes hierarchical building components such as 'building', 'plan', 'space', 'ring', 'wall skeleton', 'surface', 'column', etc. The algorithm developed assures a semantically rich and structurally correct flour plan at any point in the design process. Since the system implemented an the basis of the algorithm is the very first step toward a complete intelligent CAD system, next research and development issues were identified at the end of the paper.

The paper aims to examine the phenomena of architectural design thinking type and behavior characteristic through observation-protocol analysis. A observation is one of the best methods in the natural science researches with a experiment. And in this research experiment method is used by the observation-protocol analysis which is the actual experiment by architect. It is developed on the base of the theories of the architecture design characteristic which can explain the architectural design thinking patterns and behavior characteristic in the architectural design. Protocols of the wide scope through the actual observation experiment by architect are recorded. These findings will help us understand and interpret the design thinking patterns. But in order to deeply understand the architectural design thinking process, it is necessary to be developed the experience-methods more elaborately and to be selected the diversely-experienced designer as a subject.
