The purpose of this study is to develop vertical connection of precast concrete structural wall that can assure reliable seismic performance. This study proposed post tensioned vertical connection of precast concrete structural wall. To evaluate seismic performance of proposed vertical connection, the behavior of specimen were tested against reversed cyclic combined flexure and shear. According to the test results, the proposed precast concrete structural wall have reliable seismic performance.

It is important to assure deformation compatibility of expanded RC building for safe seismic design because the seismic detail of existing building is not defined by current seismic design code. In the present study, the analytic method to calculate plastic deformation requirement of RC structural member is proposed. Deformation compatibility of expanded RC building can be assured by comparing deformation requirement calculated by the proposed method with the deformation capacity defined by FEMA 356.
