이 연구는 ``삶의 질``의 관점에서 지방정부의 정책성과와 정부신뢰 간의 관계를 경험적으로 분석한 것이다. 정부신뢰는 정부성과의 함수라는 전제 하에서, 지역의 ``삶의 질`` 여건에 대한 주민의 주관적 평가가 정부신뢰의 내생변수인 기관신뢰(시장지지, 지방의회지지), 정치신뢰, 역량신뢰에 어느 정도 영향을 미치는지를 검증하였다. 분석에는 평택시민을 대상으로 한 서베이 자료를 이용하였다. 분석결과를 통해 삶의 질 여건이 정부신뢰에 미치는 영향은 시장지지, 지방의회지지, 정치신뢰, 역량신뢰에 따라 차이가 있음을 발견하였고, 그에 따른 시사점을 논의하였다. This study empirically analyzed the relation between performance of local government and public trust, through applying the concept of ``Quality of Life.`` Under the assumption that performance of government and public trust are in functional relation, the author measured performance of local government with the subjective assessment on ``Quality of Life`` from the residents. Then it was examined how this assessment affected the institutional trust (approval for mayor and approval for local council), political trust; and capability trust, which are endogenous variables for governmental trust. For the above analysis, research data was collected through survey in the city of Pyeongtaek. The result of this study indicates that the assessment on ``Quality of Life`` has different impact on each of approval for mayor, approval for local council, political trust; and capability trust, and the author noted on number of policy implications derived from the result.
