어머니의 자아존중감 및 양육태도와 학동기 자녀의 자아존중감과의 관계연구

The purpose of the study was to investigate the mother-child interactions in terms of maternal child-rearing behavior, maternal self-esteem, and their school-age children`s self-esteem. The subjects were, all living in the Seoul area. A pre-test. was conducted twice on 98 subjects. Each time the values of Chronbach`s α were obtained on maternal behavior, maternal self-esteem and children`s self-esteem. Data analysis was by ANOVA, Pearson`s product-moment correlation, multiple regression analysis, Chronbach`s α , and factor analysis. Children`s self-esteem was positively related (1) to family background factors: educational level, employment status of mothers, social economic status, and number of siblings (2) to maternal self-esteem and (3) to maternal child-rearing behavior in the dimensions of affection, acceptance, and encouragement of independency. Children`s self-esteem was negatively related to maternal child-rearing behavior in the dimensions of hostility, rejection and encouragement of dependency. The relative importance of independent variables on children`s self-esteem was found to be in the following order: mother`s educational level. social economic status, and number of siblings (β=0.5935, p< .001), maternal child-rearing behavior in the affection-hostility dimension (β=0.0849, p< .001), and in the acceptance-rejection dimension(β=0.0365, p< .05). The regression model showed that 25 percent of the children`s self-esteem could be accounted for by family background factors, and maternal child-rearing behavior in the affection-hostility dimension and the acceptance-rejection dimension (R²=0.25).
노인일자리사업에 대한 인식 및 자원봉사 태도가 성공적 노화에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study was to investigate the selected predictors of the successful aging of the elderly. The subjects were 401 elderly individuals over the age of sixty-five residing in J area of Seoul. The research instruments used in this study included successful aging, awareness about senior employment programs, and voluntary activity attitudes. The data were analyzed by frequency, mean, t-test, ANOVA, hierarchical multiple regression and Cronbach’s Alpha, using the SPSS program. The major findings of this study are summarized as follows: 1) the elderly who were in good health had positive awareness about senior employment programs compared to the elderly not in good health. 2) The elderly who were in good health, had spouses, and did not cohabit with their children had a positive voluntary activity attitude. 3) The elderly who were relatively young had high education, had a spouse, had a high monthly average income, and had good health conditions were found to have higher awareness about successful aging than the elderly who did not. 4) Gender, education level, health status, participation in a senior employment program, awareness about senior employment programs, and volunteer activity attitudes were found to have a positive influence on successful aging. All of the variables mentioned above accounted for 26% of the research model.

Through the study of finding the origin of the Korean traditional education thought, I had taken a look at the fact “our traditional educational thought” is formed with “Hongikinkan(弘益人間) humanism” and “the personality-centered thought” that consider ‘the life worthy of a life’ as being the most valuable. And, by preparing a base of life, I had considered about the form of the life of the whole ethnic group regarding the aspects of the use of the honorific words and the development of the politeness expressions. Also, as a practical principle for materializing the attitude of respect, which can be said to be the origin of the Korean, traditional education thought, the need for the use of the honorific words and the politeness expressions had been explained. Today, in the Korean education, regarding the thing that is needed first above anything else, rather than injecting the simple knowledge regarding the culture, the people, the language, the history, etc. of Korea into the students through the education, the specific, behavioral patterns regarding the use of the honorific words and the politeness expressions that reflect the ‘kyoung(敬)’ respect thought centered on the family and the school must be shown through a model. Also, I propose that, in the society in which the human relationships are considered to be important, the values, too, regarding ‘the life worthy of a person’ and ‘the life worthy of a life’ that reflect the Korean traditional education thought must be emphasized.
