        시스템 생태학적 접근법에 의한 넙치생산의 지속성 평가 I. 넙치생산에 대한 EMERGY 분석

        Olive flounder is one of the most important aquaculture species in Korea. Interest in the aquaculture of olive flounder has increased recently because of its good growth characteristics and high market price, However, the productivity of olive flounder aquaculture depends on economic inputs such as fuels, facilities, and labor, In this study, EMERGY concepts was used to compare the environment and economy of two olive flounder production methods, fishing fisheries and aquaculture, and to evaluate the sustainability of olive flounder production, EMERGY spelled with an 'm' is a universal measure of real wealth of the work of nature and society made on a common basis. Calculations of EMERGY production and storage provide a basis for making choices about environment and economy following. the general public policy to maximize real wealth, production and use. EMERGY flows from environment were $94.13\%$ for olive flounder fishing fisheries, and $2.20\%$ for aquaculture. EMERGY yield ratio, environmental loading ratio and sustainability index were 17.05, 1.02 and 274 for fishing fisheries and 0.06, 44.41 and 0.023 for aquaculture, respectively. These ratios indicate that the fishing fisheries will yield more net EMERGY, while the aquaculture requires a lower investment of EMERGY.

        EMERGY 분석법에 의한 득량만의 환경용량 산정

        The developments of mariculture fisheries depend on both the natural environmental inputs such as sun, rain, wind, tide and the economic inputs such as ships, fuels, facilities, labor. for the enhancement of mariculture productivity in Deukryang Bay, a new attempt has been made to connect the environmental resources and the economic activity within one system. This study applies EMERGY analysis that evaluates environmental energies, fuels, goods and services in terms of solar emjoelus. In total EMERGY use $(69.65\times10^{20}\;sej/yr)$ the natural environment inputs is $78\%\;(54.60\times10^{20}\;sej/yr)$. This means that the mariculture in Deukryang Bay depends on mainly environmental resources. Net EMERGY yield ratio was 4.63 which indicated high value as a resource, EMERGY investment ratio was 0.28 that means to gain 3.6 times energy from the natural environment than those of economy. If the fisherie's products are made by renewable EMERGY input to Deukryang Bay, the calculated carrying capacity of fishes, crustaceans, shellfish and seaweeds were 1,140, 110, 1,553 and 9,074 ton/yr, respectively. If the quantity of renewable EMERGY input to mariculture grounds in Deukrysng Bay was calculated-based on only shellfish product, shellfish products was estimated as about 1,195 ton/yr.

        한국연구재단과 한국환경산업기술원 간 Eco-Bridge 구축방안에 관한 연구

        국가연구개발 투자가 선진국 수준으로 증가함에 따라 투자 대비 성과 제고를 위해, 부처별 역할과 기능에 따라 상이한 소속부처(연구개발지원기관)간 협업의 필요성이 점차 부각되고 있다. 올해 출범한 신정부에서도 부처간 칸막이를 제거하고, 협업을 통한 국가연구개발사업 투자의 효율성 극대화를 정책목표로 제시하였다. 본 연구에서는 한국연구재단과 한국환경산 업기술원 간 우수한 연구성과의 선순환적 활용을 위한 협력사업 추진과 Eco-Bridge 구축 방안을 제시하였다. 양 기관은 2012년 환경융합분야 관련 연구개발사업의 성과제고를 골자로 하는 양해각서(MOU)를 체결하였다. 이후 미래창조과학부와 환경부 간 기초연구성과의 실용화를 위해 한국연구재단 지원으로 기 수행된 기초연구과제를 대상으로 한국환경산업기술원에서 응용연구과제를 공모하는 방식의 협력체제를 국내 최초로 구축하고 환경부 공모 ``2013년 환경융합신기술개발사업``으로 향후 3년 동안 약 20억원을 지원하게 된다. 또한 부처간 상설 협의기구인 ``환경융합 Bridge 협의회`` 설립 및 기초 R&D분야 연구자와 산업체 수요자를 상호 연계하는 Matching Program을 추진할 계획이다. 이와 같은 양 기관 협력체제는 기초 R&D가 시장 예측및 수요를 기반으로 하는 R&BD의 형태로 발전하는 새로운 모델을 제시하고 나아가 부처별 연구지원 특성을 반영한 범부처협력체계의 구축으로 국가연구개발사업의 효율성을 제고할 것으로 기대된다. Korea is one of the top countries that has funded great amount to promote basic research and others in recent decade. While the quantity of R&D fund in Korea has rapidly increased, the effectiveness and quality of R&D outcomes became a controversial issue. National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) and Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute (KEITI) agreed to collaborate for diffusing and utilizing R&D outcomes of each institute. NSF and KEITI signed the bilateral MOU in 2012, and Interministerial Collaborative R&D Support Framework (ICR&DSF) was developed. The ICR&DSF consist of launching an Eco-Bridge Program as an interministerial R&D program and composition of Environmental Convergence R&D Bridge Committee. The Eco-Bridge Program was applied to ``Environmental Convergence Technology Project`` of KEITI as a pilot program in 2012. The unique feature of this interministerial R&D program is that the Eco-Bridge Program directly supports the basic research outcomes which are previously funded by NRF. As the collaboration between NRF and KEITI becomes stronger, it is expected to explore the more creative and the more transformative research.

        EMERGY 평가에 의한 부산광역시의 지속적인 발전가능성 평가

        Sustainable development has been the key concept, both in economic policies and in environmental management since 1970s. In the view of systems ecology, sustainable resource use strategies are considered to be essential in achieving sustainable development. During the last three decades, the discipline of systems ecology has applied ecological energetic analysis to the evaluation of the contribution of natural environments to economic systems. EMERGY analysis of main energy flows driving the economy of humans and life support systems of a city was made including environmental energies, fuel, and inputs, all expressed as solar emjoules. Total EMERGY use of Pusan was 3.89 E22 sej/yr, about 90 percent of it was purchased sources from outside during eleven years from 1985 to 1995. EMERGY flows from the environment were less than 10 percent. EMERGY yield ratio and environmental loading ratio were 1.10 and 10.45, respectively. EMERGY sustainability index is therefore less than one, which is indicative of highly developed consumer oriented economies. Development of a city has been achieved in the short run by the economic growth, but it can be sustained in the long run by the use of renewable resource systems.

        낙동강 유역의 지속가능한 이용을 위한 EMERGY 분석

        An EMERGY analysis of the main energy flows driving the economy of humans and life support systems consists of environmental energies, fuels, and imports, all expressed as solar emjoules. Total EMERGY use(720.0 E20 sej/yr) of the Nakdong River Basin is 96 per cent from imported sources, fuels and goods and services. EMERGY flows from the environment such as rain and geological uplift flux accounted for only 4 percent of total EMERGY use. Consequently, the ratio of outside investment to attracting natural resources was large, like other industrialized areas. EMERGY use per person in the Nakdong River Basin indicates a moderate EMERGY standard of living, even though the indigenous resources are very poor. Population of 6.66 million people in 1996 is already in excess of carrying capacity of the basin. Carrying capacity for steady state based on its renewable sources is only 0.226 million people. EMERGY yield ratio and environment loading ratio were 1.07 and 28.52, respectively. EMERGY sustainability index, a ratio of EMERGY yield ratio to environment loading ratio, is therefore less than one, which is indicative of highly developed consumer oriented economies. This study suggests that the economic structure of the Nakdong River Basin should be transformed from the present industrial structure to the social-economic structure based on an ecological-recycling concept for the sustainable use of the Nakdong River.

      • 굴패각 혼용 콘크리트의 역학적 특성에 관한 연구

        연안지역 굴양식장에서 발생하는 굴패각을 대량으로 처리하기 위하여, 콘크리트의 잔골재 대체재료로 재활용하기 위한 방법을 개발하는 연구를 수행하였다. 이를 위해 분쇄한 굴패각의 대체율에 따른 굳지 않은 콘크리트의 특성 및 경화한 콘크리트의 역학적 특성을 정량적으로 검토하였다. 실험결과에 따르면 대체율이 증가할수록 작업성은 저하된다. 그리고 굴패각의 혼입은 콘크리트의 압축강도 및 휨강도를 저하시키는 요인으로 작용하지는 않는다. An experimental study was carried out to investigate recycling of an oyster shell, which is disposed in open-dumped way at coastal oyster factory area. For this purpose, the characteristics of fresh concrete and hardened concrete was quantitatively investigated in terms of blending rate of the crushed oyster shell. Test results show that workability of concrete decreases with increase the blending rate of the crushed oyster shell. And it was found that blending of an oyster shell caused not to reduce the compressive strength and flexural strength.

        환경회계에 의한 낙동강 유역의 환경정책결정에 관한 연구

        The conflicts between environment protection and economic development are becoming increasingly important in environmental decision making of Nakdong River Basin. A science-based evaluation system is now needed to represent both the environmental values and the economic values with a common measure. EMERGY, spelled with an "m" evaluates both the work of river and that of human in generating products and services. The monetary cost-benefit analysis and the environmental accounting by EMERGY analysis were applied to determine whether there will have a net benefit in environmental decision making of Nakdong River Basin. Based on the results of the environmental accounting, all alternatives which related to environmental decision making of Nakdong River Basin show that more and more of EMERGY cost becomes needed than the EMERGY benefit from getting water to drink in the lower basin. From these results, for selecting alternatives to manage water quantity and quality that is sustainable in the environmental use and economic development, environmental accounting concepts must be considered, and the economic structure of Nakdong River Basin should be changed from the present industrial structure to social-economic structure based on ecological-recycling concept for the sustainable use of Nakdong River.

        시스템 생태학적 접근법에 의한 한국의 지속적인 발전가능성 평가 (1) : 한국의 자연환경과 경제활동에 대한 EMERGY 평가 EMERGY Analysis of Korea's Natural Environment and Economic Activity

        Sustainable development has been the key concept, both in economic policies and in environmental management. On the basis of an systems ecology perspective, this study suggests the sustainable development of Korea's natural environment and economic activity using the EMERGY evaluation. The total EMERGY use(7,730 E20sej/yr) in Korea is 81 percent from imported sources, fuels and goods and services. The ratio of outside investment to attracting natural resources is already large, like other industrialized countries. Continued availability of purchased inputs at a favorable balance of EMERGY trade, currently about 2.85 to 1 net EMERGY, is the basis for present economic activity and must decrease as the net EMERGY of purchased inputs including fossil fuels goes down. EMERGY yield ratio and environmental loading ratio were 1.23 and 20.30, respectively. The population level is already in excess of carrying capacity. Its carrying capacity for steady state on its renewable sources is only 2.2 million people, compared to 45.9 million in 1997. EMERGY sustainability index is therefore less than one, which is indicative of highly developed consumer oriented economies. Until now the development of a country has been achieved by the economic growth, but it can be sustained in the long run by the use of renewable resource systems, the efficiency of energy usage, and the transformation of the social-economic structure based on an ecological-recycling concept.
