Vehicle bumper shoud be meet the regulation as like as FMVSS, ECE42 and vehicle safety regulation No93. Vehicle bumper is consist of enery absorber, facia, backbeam plate, reinforcement. stay and bracet. Many research are carried out to develop the new bumper which has low cost, low weight and high strength by automobile company. Bumper backbeam plate is one of important part for weight control of bumper.<br/> Generally, bumper backbeam plate is producted by press and welding process method. But, this production method have some problems like thermal deformation during welding process and reduce of plate thickness during press process. It means the reduce the strength of bumper.<br/> To improve this problem, multi roll stamping method is applied to product the bumper backbeam plate. This method cannot reduce the thickness during the manufacturing process.<br/> In this paper, impact analysis of bumper backbeam plate using multi roll stamping carried out and evaluate the bumper can be meet the regulations for light commercial vehicle(LCV) rear bumper to apply mass production.<br/>

Suspension system of vehicle have enough endurance during its life time to protect passenger. Spring is one of major part of vehicle. Thus, a fatigue strength evaluation for leaf spring based on road load response was carried out. At first, strain of leaf spring is measured on the city condition and proving ground condition. And next, the damage analysis of road load response data was carried out. And fatigue test of leaf spring were also carried out. Based on ε-N life relation, fatigue life of leaf spring was evaluated at belgian mode, city mode and drawing test specification. After that, it is compared the design life of leaf spring and evaluated fatigue life by belgian mode, city mode and drawing test specification. From the above, the maximum load-fatigue life relation of leaf spring was defined by test. and new test target of belgian mode and city mode was proposed to accept design specification of leaf spring. It is expect that proposed test target can verify leaf spring fatigue endurance at specific road condition.

This study describes hybrid power train design concept for small cart. Single cylinder spark ignition (SI) engine was applied as combustion engine and brushless DC motor (1.5㎾) as supplementary electric power. In order to improve robustness of vehicle body design, modal mode analysis was carried out by using Nastran. The vehicle dynamic performance was pre-calculated based on estimated rolling and air resistance. In order to control the power mode, the electric clutch and optimized reduction gear were applied. To control motor power, the motor control unit (MCU) was applied and control strategy was studied for different driving pattern. To improve fuel economy, the braking energy recovery system is included in power control logic based upon brake pedal signal. Considering vehicle curb weight and power balance between combustion engine and motor, the 48V conventional Pb-acid battery was applied.

The recent tendency in the automobile industries is toward light weighting vehicle body to improve the problems by environmental pollution as well as improving fuel cost. The effective way to reduce the weight of vehicle body seems to be application of new materials for body structure, and such trend is remarkable. Among the various materials for vehicle body, stainless steel sheets and cold rolled steel sheets are under the interests. However, in order to guarantee reliability of new material and to establish the long life fatigue design criteria of body structure, it is necessary to assess spot weldability and fatigue strength of spot welded lap joints fabricated under optimized spot welding condition. In this paper, spot weldability of the stainless steel sheets, STS301L and STS304L, and the cold rolled steel sheets, SPCC and SPCD. Fatigue strength of lap joints spot -welded between similar and dissimilar materials were also assessed.
