Development of a more satisfactory program of computing the performance on a multi-tube evaporator with continuous plate fins is attempted in this study. The fluid flow involving a change of phase make the flow properties and fluid friction factor of refrigerants, the heat transfer coefficients of refrigerant and air sides vary significantly. Taking such variations into account, a useful program is developed to predict the steady state performance of a multi-tube evaporator. The program was applied to an evaporator which has outside diameter of 10.05mm, inside diameter of 9.35mm, length of 5.4m and two rows arraied staggered. Then the variations of refrigerant quality, temperature, pressure, velocity, enthalpy, specific volume and air temperature, tube temperature were discussed. Satisfactory results were presented that the degree of superheat at the outlet side was $4.4^{\circ}C$ and the air temperature drop between the inlet and outlet of the air conditioner was $10^{\circ}C$.

This paper presents experimental data of fluctuation characteristics of local void fraction of air-water two-phase flow which are associated with the flow pattern, annular gap size and radial location in vertical concentric annuli with coefficient of skewness and kurtosis. The annular gap widths are 13mm, 11mm, and 9mm for a 38m inner diameter as the lucite outer tube. A electrical conductivity probe was used to measure the local void fraction and traversed diametrically from inner wall to outer wall using radial increments of 2mm. It was shown that distribution of the coefficient of skewness and kurtosis, which is related that the one is the asymmetry and the other peakness of local void fraction distribution was influenced by flow pattern, annular gap size and radial location.

The theory of cascade flow analysis for large deflection was suggested lately, but this as-sumed to be incompressible and inviscid, the blades of negligible thickness. In this study, the fluid is assumed to be compressible and inviscide, the blades of given thickness, and using the mean vorticity pannel method the effects of increasing camber angle are analyzed. As the result of this study, it is found that the calculated flow regimes have good agreement with the existing experimented data and other calculation results.

An experimental investigation has been conducted to determine the flow pattern for two-component , two-phase mixtures which flow vertically upwards in concentric annuli based on the measurement for the local void fraction and the distribution of the local void fraction in various radial locations in the annular gap. The annular test section consists of a lucite outer tube whose inside diameter is 38mm and a stainless steel rod, The rod diameter is either :2mm,16mm or 20mm. It is demonstrated that the probability density function of the fluctuations in void fraction may be used as an flow pattern indicator and the local void fraction distribution depends on the flow pattern and radial location in the annular passage.

In order to seek various relationships among many design parameters employed in the design of the axial-flow fans the program which generates acoustic spectrum has been developed and its validity verified. Outputs of the program, with other outputs from a formerly developed performance prediction program, have been used to form a multi-objective function, for which an optimal design process was carried out. The present analysis shows that overall noise level and efficiency has contrasting trends, and the chord length turns out to be the most critical design variable. In the chosen design case of requirements $Q=2000m^2/min$, ${\Delta}P_s=67mmAq$, D=1.4m, the chord length of 0.2059m minimizes the overall noise level, while chord length of 0.1254m maximizes the efficiency. The resulting chord length in the balanced optimization is 0.1809m.

In this study, one-dimensional Stefan problem with air-gap resistance in the rectangular mold is considered and the thermal characteristics are examined by using the enthalpy-based simple implicit finite-difference scheme. The enthalpy and temperature are nondimensionalized to obtain general solutions. The temperature distribution and the locations of solidus and liquidus line are obtained and the effects of major parameters on the thermal characteristics are investigated.

This study numerically analyzed the dynamic characteristics of the frequency response on the pneumatic transmission line with load impedances. The pressure transfer function is represented by the distributed parameter line model. To validate the mathematical approximations of Bessel function ratios, the results of frequency response in a blocked line were compared with those obtained by the Infinite-product, Brown's and Square-root approximations. Special emphasis was given to the frequency response characteristics on the pneumatic transmission line with load impedances. Computations were carried out for the wide range of parameters in terms of load capacitance ratio and load resistance ratio. The present results indicated that the theoretical model is capable of accurately predicting the frequency response characteristics for any configuration of a fluid transmission line.
수직관에서 2상선회유동이 보이드분포와 압력강하에 미치는 영향

This experimental investigation has been conducted to determine the effects of swirling angle and flow patterns on distributions of void fraction, bubble velocity and two-phase pressure drop in a vertical straight tube. Swirling angles of $0^{\circ}$ (non swirling), $30^{\circ}$, and $45^{\circ}$ were tested with air-water two components over a range of superficial air velocities. A transparent lucite tube of 38mm in internal diameter was used for the test section. The void fraction and bubble velocities were measured by means of a optical fiber probe at the upper part of the swirler in the test section. Pressure drops which seem to be closely related with flow patterns and swirling angle were measured by a differential pressure transducer. It is shown that the probability density functions of pressure drop demonstrate peculiar features for both swirling angles and flow patterns, whereas the distributions of void fraction and bubble velocities are parabolic and flat shape in the vicinity of tube center, respectively except bubbly flow in any swirling angle cases, and the void fraction increases with increasing swirling angle around the center of tube.
