In these centuries, the population of the world has increased remarkably. This over-population has brought about the psychological problems in civil society and demanded more parts of buildings. Therefore, the rapid expansion of metropolitan has generated the density and high rising of buildings, and they added to many difficult problems in the building foundations. In this paper, the author mentioned briefly the types of foundations utilized soft layer, which is difficult soil condition, and dealed with the limits of settlement in the view of architectural structure, especially the method of architectural foundation which is able to be used in this province-Jeonju, Gunsan and Iri.

An important thing in winter concreting is to prevent concrete members from freezing during its setting and hardening. There has been various precautionary methods for winter construction for the early-age strength of concrete and the protection of concrete members against freezing in the early days. One of the most common techniques is to use cover sheets, or plywood panels on the top and in the surroundings of the building under construction. But this technique can not always protect the concrete members under the condition of dispropotionating temperature. The purpose of these experiments is to examine the effect of the insulating forms made of styrenefoam in winter concreting. For these experiments the concrete members in insulating forms and non-insulating forms were built seperatly, and their temperatures in concrete, were measured which are changed according to the ambient temperature. It is concluded that insulating form is more effective than non-insulating form un the winter construction.
