The Korean Medical Journal (1930-1937) is the first Korean medical journal published by The Korean Medical Association, which Korean doctors established to resist Japanese medical organizations during the Japanese colonial period. Using the bibliometric research method for The Korean Medical Journal, this study aimed to analyze the journal as follows. First, the study analyzed the subject trends of medical research by extracting the MeSH terms from the title of the articles. Next, the study identified characteristics of authors, type of language used in the papers, publication year and countries of references included in the papers. Also, this study identified the researchers' interests by analyzing the frequency of keywords appearing in the roundtable titles. As a result of the research, infections, pathological symptoms and diseases of the digestive system were studied most often. Most authors belonged to Severance Union Medical College, and internal medicine and general surgery departments had the most authors. Most of the titles and texts of the papers were written in Korean and Chinese characters in combination. Of the 131 papers, only 40 contained abstracts, 22 of which were English abstracts, the most number. The study analyzed 1,103 references in the papers and found that the authors mainly cited the latest journals published in Japan, Germany, and the United States. The topics discussed the most in the roundtable talks were tuberculosis, neurasthenia, and gonorrhea in order. This research examined the history of the publication of The Korean medical journal. Also, it showed that Korean doctors accumulated their academic medical research results and contributed to improving medical conditions.

This study is to present improvement plans by examining how Korean literature house websites provide information services. Seventy-nine Korean literature houses out of eighty-eight members of the Korean Literature House Association were studied, except nine that did not construct websites. Three core elements, including website style, literary works information and writer information, together with thirteen sub-elements, were derived from precedent studies. As a result, it was found that 90% of the literature houses were operating websites, but the classification criteria for the literary works and cataloguing rules were not unified, and literature information was not provided sufficiently. Thus, this study suggested improvement plans such as support to build a website, developing cataloging guidelines for literature houses, providing more full-text literature and providing information about literary works and writer.

This bibliographic study explores the invaluable resources of Nursing Korea published by the editorial department of the Korean Nurses Association(KNA) on October 25, 1948. For this purpose, the study examined the publication history and content of Nursing Korea through the physical survey, literature review, and content analysis by Textom. Until recently, academics believed that the KNA published “THE KOREAN NURSING, the Continued Publication Issue No. 1” in 1953, following the Bulletin of Nurses Association in Korea, which was initially published in 1925 and discontinued in the 1930s. However, unlike the perspectives of academics on these two publications, the result of this study found that Nursing Korea was the most significant publication in the history of nursing in Korea, bridging the Bulletin of Nurses Association in Korea and THE KOREAN NURSING. Furthermore, reviewing the content of Nursing Korea confirmed that it contained self-respect and a sense of duty as a professional woman, dedication to society, and the perception of women’s education in those days.
