        지리산의 약용식물은 재배수종을 포함하여 855종, 122변종, 3품종으로 구성되어 잇다. 소나무는 이 지역에서 가장 넓은 분포 면적을 가지며, 해발 600m이하의 산기슭이나 건조한 지역에 대부분 소나무림으로 울창하다. 그 외 지역은 신갈나무, 졸참나무, 서나무 등으로 분포되어 있고 위의 식물들중 25수종은 한국의 특산수종이다. 다양한 약용식물이 많이 분포하고 있으며, 천남성, 천마, 지리강활, 산작약 등이 대표적으로 분포되어 있다. The medicinal plants of Mt. Chiri were composed of 855 species, 112 varieties, and 3 formas including cultivated species. Pinus densiflora had the widest distributional area in this region. It has established almost pure stand in arid area on monutainfoot below 600m elevation and rocky ridges. The rest areas were occupied by Quercus mongolica, Quercus serrara and Carpinus laxiflora, ets. Among the above plants, 25 species were Korean endemic ones. Many kinds of medicinal plants, for example, Arisaema amurense var. serratum, Gastrodia elata, Angelic purpuraefolia and paeonia abovata, etc. were distributed.

        Caragana chamlagu Lamarck의 Sterol 성분에 관한 연구

        From the dried roots of Caragana chamlagu Lamarck which have been known to be effective against neuralgia, arthritis, migraine, and sputum, etc. in the folk medicines of Korea, a colorless sterol-like substance, C$_{29}H_{50}O$, m.p. $115-117^{\circ}$, was isolated from the non-saponified fraction of methanolic extract. It was confirmed to be a mixture of four sterols, namely cholesterol, brassicasterol, campesterol, and $\beta$-sitosterol by physico-chemical properties, ir, nmr, mass spectra and gas liquid chromatographic method with the comparison of the authentic samples. In mass fragments of four sterols, furthermore, the same ions of m/e 273, 255, 229 and 213 were assigned to fragments of stigmastane skeletons of the unsaturated phytosterol, and the characteristic ions of each sterol were observed 386, 371, 368, 353 in cholesterol, 398, 383, 380, 365, 355, 337 in brassicasterol, 400, 385, 382, 367 in campesterol and 414, 399, 396, 381 in $\beta$-sitosterol, respectively.

        The purpose of the study is to investigate the possibility of cutting of Eucommia ulmoides OLIV. (Eucomiaceae) by using various soils in Korea. Four different kinds of soil, such as sand, red cray, red cray plus sand and Masa soil, were used in the investigation. It was found that total length, number and rate of rooting were most prominent in the cutting cultivated in Masa soil.

        Phellinus linteus(polyporaceae) has been used as anti-cancer agent in Korea. We were studied to evaluate the anti-tumor and immunopotentiation effect of Phellinus lintenus(PL) single and mixing administration with three anti-tumor agents in folk medicines(Ulmus davidiana var japonica, Cudrania tricuspiata, and Bupleurun palcatum). Oral administraion to tumor bearing mice significantly prolonged suvival rate compared to control group with the prolongation ratio of 2% to 9%.         지리바꽃 괴경의 알카로이드

        Tuber of Aconitum chiisanense(Ranunculaceae) a specific medicinal plant in Korea, which is known to have the activity to recover reduced metabolism of feeble patients and has been used to symptoms such as pain, paralysis, atonia and coldness of extremities, etc. were studied. The powdered tubers of the plant were extracted with 10% EtOH 3 times and the combined extract was dissolved in 1N HCl solution and washed with ethyl acetate. The aqueous layer was basified with solid Na2CO3 and extracted with CHCl3 to obtain an alkaloidal fraction. The alkaloidal fraction was subjected to column chromatography using silica gel, alumina and Sephdex LH 20, etc. From the alkaloidal fraction, five diterpene alkaloids, mesaconitine, aconitine, hypaconitine, 8-O-ethyl 14-benzoylmesaconine and talatizamine, were isolated and identified on the basis of their physico-chemical properties and spectroscopic evidences(1H-, 13C-NMR, EI-MS, IR, 2D-NMR) respectively. Especially the Compound IV, 8-O-ethyl 14-benzoylmesaconine, was assumed to be an artifact resulting from mesaconitine during extraction procedures. The contents of mesaconitine, aconitine and hypaconitine in the mother tuber of this plant were 0.300%, 0.024%, and 0.068%. And that of the attached tuber(new one) of this plant were 0.336%, 0.034% and 0.240% respectively.

        담쟁이덩굴엽의 플라보놀 배당체

        For the investigation of medicinal resources the studies were carried out to evaluate the pharmaco-constituents in the Leaves of Parthenocissus tricuspidata(Vitaceae), of which leaves have been used in Korea as folk remedies for the treatments of arthritis, jaundice, toothache, neuralgia, and etc. From 1-butanol fraction of the McOH extract, Compound I (C21Hl8O13. Quercetin-3-O-beta-D-glucuronopyranoside), Compound II (C2IH20O12, Quercetin-3-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside) and Compound III (C25H28O12, Quercetin-3-O-(6"-n-butyl)-beta-D-glucuronopyranoside) were isolated by column chromatographic separation using Sephadex LH-20 and ODS gel. Their structures were elucidated through instrumental analyses, such as 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, IR, UV, EI-Mass, FAB-Mass and GC. Especially compound III was Flavonol glycoside and named parthenosin.

        This studies were attempted to evaluate the antioxidant and the antidiabetive activities of Phellinus linteus and its preparation. The DPPH was revealed that Phellinus linteus and Allium cepae bulbus mixture had significantly antioxidant activity. TEARS assay showed that Phellinus linteus and Houttuyniae herbal mixture and Phellinus linteus and Ginseng radix rubra 'mixture had significantly anti-lipid peroxidative efficacy when compared to that of contrast drug, ascorbic acid. The effect of Phellinus linteus and its preparation on Diabetic animal model were investigated in streptozotocin-induced diabetic SD rats. The blood glucose was dose-dependently decreased when each 50, 100, 200 ㎏/㎎ fraction of Phellinus linteus and ginseng radix rubra mixture was administrated significantly. The serum total cholesterol was showed inhibitive activity when each 50, 100, 200 ㎏/㎎ fraction of Phellinus linteus and ginseng radix rubra 'mixture was administrated. Especially 200 ㎎/㎏ fraction was dose-dependently decreased. The serum triglyceride hyperglycemic rats was dose-dependently decreased when each 50, 100, 200 ㎏/㎎ fraction of Phellinus linteus and ginseng radix rubra mixture was administrated. But when Phellinus linteus and Allium cepae bulbus mixture and Phellinus linteus and Houttuyniae herbal mixture increased dose, the serum total cholesterol and the serum triglyceride hyperglycemic rats were increased too.

        지리터리풀의 플라보놀배당체

        As one of the serial studies on the specific and indigenous plants of Mt. Chiri the constituents of aerial part from Filipendula formosa (Rosaceae) were investigated. From of the MeOH extract, five flavonol glycosides, kaempferol-3-O-beta-D-glactopyranoside, quercetin-3-0-beta-D-galactopyranoside, quercetin-3-0-alpha-L-rhamopyranosyl (1→6)-beta-D-galactopyranoside, kaempferol-3-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl (1→6)-beta-D-ga-lactopyranoside and quercetin-7-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-3-O-beta-D-galactopyranoside were isolated by column chromatographic separation using Amberlite XAD-2 and Sephadex LH-20, and identified physico-chemical evidences (IR, FAB-Mass, 1H, 13C-NMR).
