The improvement in the battery performance and life using a battery thermal management system directly affects the improvement in the performance, life, and energy efficiency of electric vehicles. Therefore, this study numerically analyzed the heat exchange processes between the coolant inside the cooling plate channel and the heat generated by the battery. The cooling performance was analyzed based on the average temperature, temperature uniformity, and the maximum and minimum temperature differences of the battery. A performance difference existed depending on the coolant inlet temperature but showed the same tendency of cooling performance according to the shape of each plate's channel. Type 1 showed the best results in terms of battery temperature uniformity, which is the most important measure of battery performance; Type 2 showed the best results in terms of the average temperature of the battery; and Type 3 showed the best results in terms of the maximum and minimum temperature differences of the battery compared with that of the other cooling plates.

When ships enter ports, they discharge ballast water. Ballast water, or seawater from foreign countries, causes marine pollution when discharged into ports without sterilization treatment owing to the harmful marine life that it contains. Thus, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) mandates the installation of ballast water sterilization devices to preserve marine ecosystems. This study aims to increase the generation of microbubbles by mounting a static mixer on a tube connected to a ballast tank and a three-layer membrane structure around the static mixer to improve the efficiency of the electric sterilization method. Microbubble generation is expected to increase as the pressure between the inlet and outlet of the pipe and the vorticity decrease. This study intends to implement an optimal NaOH continuous generation system by determining the optimal seawater flow rate, bed sphere diameter, and porosity through numerical analysis. The results show that the conditions of seawater with a flow rate of 220 lph, a bed sphere diameter of 0.01 m, and a porosity of 0.3 were optimized for the NaOH continuous generation system.

When it comes to development of electric vehicles(EV), much attention has been paid to the thermal management of batteries. The liquid cooling has been increasingly used instead of other cooling methods, such as air cooling and phase change material cooling. In this study, battery pack was used to designing suitable cooling plates for pouch type of battery. The numerical analysis was performed by variables : Inlet Temperature, Flow Rate of Coolant and 3 types of the cooling plate’s Channels. As the flow rate increased, the maximum temperature and average temperature were lowered, and New Model 2 was the most effective shape for decreasing battery’s maximum and average temperature. On the other hand, Pressure drop isn’t much considered as important things for cooling battery’s temperature. Therefore we optimized and focused on our designed channels of cooling plates how much dropped battery’s temperature degrees.
