4주간의 βeta-alanine 보충이 등속성 및 무산소성 운동수행능력 향상에 미치는 영향

Carnosine(Carn) is a dipeptide of β-Alanine and Histidine and occurs in high concentrations in skeletal muscle. Carn is highly effective in buffering H<SUP>+</SUP> over the physiological pH range, and probably the only such active compound where the concentration can be changed by diet. This study was performed to investigate the effect of 4 weeks β-alanine supplementation (6.4g/d) on isokinetic and anaerobic exercise performance capacity. Ten young elite swmmermale volunteers (25-30yrs) supplemented with 6.4g of β-alanine per day (4 times/d) during 4 weeks. Subjects undertook Wingate tests and isokinetic tests at 60°/s, 180°/s and 240°/s before and after supplementation. The Peak power(829±170 vs 946±127) and Fatigue Index(15.92±4.1 vs 19.44±3.1) were increased (p<.05) and Peak torque in flexor at 60°/s was increased(153±29 vs 186±39) with the supplementation (p<.01). These results indicated that the increased carnosine concentration by the β-alanine supplementation (6.4g/d) during 4 weeks in this study is likely contribute to both isokinetic and anaerobic exercise capacity.
