The purpose of this study was to compare the circadian blood pressure and heart rate rhythm of dippers and non- dippers. Biochemical and clinical characteristics of dippers and non-dippers were also compared to determine whether non-dippers have an increased prevalence of hypertension- related conditions. The subjects were 123 out-patients with essential hypertension who had undergone ambulatory blood pressure monitoring at the University Hospital in Inchon, South Korea, from January 1, 1997 to December 31, 1998. Daytime values were determined between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM and the nighttime values were determined between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Non-dippers were defined as those who showed a reduction in systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure or heart rate less than 10% and they accounted for 25%, 32% and 31% of the subjects, respectively. The timings of the circadian systolic and diastolic blood pressure and heart rate in dippers were very consistent: showing the lowest values during the night, rising in the early morning and reaching a plateau in the late morning. Non-dippers' circadian rhythms of systolic and diastolic blood pressures fluctuated less than those of dippers, and the 24-hours heart rate rhythms of the dipper and non- dipper groups were completely reversed. None of the biochemical characteristics tested in the present study showed a significant difference between dippers and non-dippers whether dipper was classified by systolic or diastolic blood pressure or heart rate. Similarly, hypertension-related symptoms and complications were not associated with the dipper/non-dipper description, whether classified by sBP, dBP, or HR. 서화숙,송정아 한국의류산업학회 2004 한국의류산업학회지 Vol.6 No.3
The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences between the body cathexis, appearance management behaviors and satisfaction with apparel fit according to physical figure of college women who had deep interests in their body and appearance. Data for this study was obtained from 413 college women in Taegu and Kyungpook Province. Means, t-test, ANOVA and Scheffe's post hoc comparison were used in data analysis. The result of this study were; 1. It was found that both body Cathexis and fit satisfaction of college women were generally low. College women were less satisfied with their body and fit of apparel. The unsatisfied body parts were thighs, abdomen and hip. 2. Significant differences in Satisfaction with apparel fit were found in skirt length, slacks length, thigh according to height and significant difference in satisfaction with apparel fit were found in armhole, abdomen, calf according to weight. 3. Significant differences in appearance management behaviors were not found according to height, but significant differences in diet, exercise and clothing use were found according to weight. Also significant differences in diet and clothing use were found according to Ro¨hrer index.

To identify possible associations with concentrations of ambient air pollutants and daily mortality in Busan, this study assessed the effects of air pollution for the time period 1999-2000. Poisson regression analysis by Generalized Additive Model were conducted considering trend, season, meteorology, and day-of-the-week as confounders in a nonparametric approach. Busan had a 10% increase in mortality in persons aged 65 and older(95% CI : 1.01-1.10) in association with IQR in NO_2(lagged 2 days). An increase of NO_2(lagged 2days) was associated with a 4% increase in respiratory mortality(CI : 1.02-1.11) and CO(lagged 1 day) showed a 3% increase(CI : 1.00-1.07).
