농도구배와 평균속도가 삼지화염의 부상 특성에 미치는 영향에 관한 실험적 연구

A triple flame in a mixing layer was studied experimentally with concentration gradient and mean velocity by using a multi-slot burner, which can stabilize the lift-off flame. Flame stabilization condition, lift-off heights, and some other characteristics were examined for methane and propane flame within a range of very low concentration gradient. Pitot-tube and LDV(Laser Doppler Velocimetry) were used for velocity. Mass spectroscopy and Rayleigh scattering signal were used for concentration gradients. Thermo-couples and SiC TFP(Thin Filament Pyrometer) were used for temperature. It was found that minimum values of the lift-off heights exist at a certain concentration gradient for constant mean velocity and this means that the propagation velocity has a maximum value. The scales of flame to the burner nozzle and intensity variation of the diffusion flame were suspected as the cause.

본 논문에서는 초고선명 방송 (UHDTV)에서의 고품질 실감 오디오를 재현하기 위한 오디오 신호규격 및 멀티채널 오디오 재생시스템 형상, 멀티채널 오디오 부호화 기법에 대한 기술개발 동향, 표준화 현황, 문제점에 대해서 살펴보고 국내의 방송 및 통신 환경에 적절한 해결 방안을 제시한다. In this paper, we describe technical trends, standard activities, and upcoming issues relating on UHDTV audio, which requires high quality realistic sound. We also propose a proper solution to it for domestic broadcasting and telecommunication environments.

One of the essential characteristics of Lewis Mumford's architectural criticism is the coherent emphasis on symbolism. Such emphasis stems from his understanding of city and humanity in the context of civilization: first, that the architecture symbolizes institutions of urban civilization; second, that the technical aspect of human nature should be balanced with its artistic aspects. Mumford believed that each architectural type requires an appropriate symbolic expression corresponding to its purpose and that a new symbolic expression, in a new cultural context, should replace the conventional expression. He took symbolism for an intuitional expression, and read multi-layered meanings of architecture: 'practical function' by way of rational reason and 'symbolic function' by way of intuition. He pursued a balance between practicality and beauty to rectify the situation of modern civilization, in which symbolism, the expression of its intuitional aspect, is in crisis. Ultimately, for Mumford, the essential task of architectural critic is of the interpretation of symbolism, aiming at the correspondence and communication between the architect(artist)'s intuition and critic(interpreter)'s via the media of symbol. The critic can play some privileged role of interpreting even symbols unintended by the architect. The ideal architectural critic, after all, would be the one who is able to understand the city, technology and human beings in the perspective of civilization and to interpret the architect's artistic expression in its highest form through intuition. Mumford established himself as such a critic and evaluated the status of aesthetic accomplishment of his contemporary architecture and technological civilization, giving emphasis on the artistic practice in architecture as a solution.
Fe(NO<sub>3</sub>)<sub>3</sub> 수용액의 농도와 침지시간에 따른 지르코니아의 색상 및 특성 변화

Purpose: The increased aesthetic requirements and demands of patients have resulted in the developments of coloring liquid for zirconia. Methods: In this study, zirconia block was dipped into $Fe(NO_3)_3$solution, which showed a color and then concentration of $Fe(NO_3)_3$and zirconia's color and physical properties depending on the dipping time were observed and compared with exclusive coloring solutions. As the result, the following conclusions were obtained. Results: When compared with the specimens that were colored using exclusive solutions, $L^*$ value rose overall depending on the concentration of $Fe(NO_3)_3$and $a^*$ value was red in the form of (+) in all the specimens. Also, $b^*$ value was in the form of (+) at 0.5 to $1{\ss}fl$, but was in the form of (-) at 1.5 to $2{\ss}fl$. The dipping time did not highly influence $L^*$ value, but $a^*$ value and $b^*$ value were directly opposite to the specimens, which were not colored, except the sample that was dipped for only 2 seconds. When compared with exclusive coloring solutions, $Fe(NO_3)_3$had the most similar color at 0.5 to $1{\ss}fl$ and the longer the coloring time, the higher the rate of color change became. In relation to the density change depending on the addition of $Fe(NO_3)_3$, there was the lowest density at $2{\ss}fl$ and the density was increased in the specimens that were not colored. Conclusion: These results show that $Fe(NO_3)_3$solution can be used to make colored zirconia. It is expected that newly made colored zirconia can be used in clinical practice because the colored zirconia not only possesses the mechanical properties that all ceramic core material should have but also was biocompatible to a living cells.

This paper discusses Leon Battista Alberti's vision of the paradigmatic city. In his De re aedificatoria, Alberti proposes how the architecture of both individual buildings and cities should be ordered and embellished. Borrowing ideas from the ancient writers on one hand, and reflecting on actual urban reality on the other, Alberti proposes an ideal city where the sacred and the secular come together in hierarchical harmony, beautified under the principle of ornament. In Book VIII, dealing with secular public works of architecture, he writes about the composition of a new humanist city that transcends actual reality. Ornament, a central idea of his aesthetics, supports his conception of the paradigmatic city.
실감 오디오 방송을 위한 초다채널 오디오 시스템 및 표준화 동향

본고는 3DTV, UHDTV(Ultra High Definition Television)와 같은 실감방송 환경에서 실감 오디오 서비스를 제공하기 위한 초다채널 오디오 기술의 최근 연구 및 개발 동향을 소개한다. 스테레오와 5.1 채널로 대표되는 기존의 오디오 기술은 2차원 평면상에서만 음장을 형성할 수 있다는 표현의 한계를 가지고 있다. 3D 영화의 성공과 UHDTV로 대표되는 초고화질 비디오와 부합하기 위해서는 오디오도 3차원 공간상에서 표현되어야 하며 이를 위해서는 필연적으로 출력채널 수가 증가하여야 한다. 이러한 초다채널 오디오는 22.2 채널과 같은 대용량의 오디오 데이터를 압축하는 기술뿐만 아니라 다양한 오디오 출력 환경에 적응적으로 오디오 콘텐츠를 표현하는 기술에 대한 연구/개발이 필요하다.
