Micro-sized bumps on a multi-layered build-up PCB were fabricated by pulse-reverse copper electroplating. The values of the current density and brightener content for the electroplating were optimized for suitable performance with maximum efficiency. The micro-bumps thus electroplated were characterized using a range of analytical tools that included an optical microscope, a scanning electron microscope, an atomic force microscope and a hydraulic bulge tester. The optical microscope and scanning electron microscope analyses results showed that the uniformity of the electroplating was viable in the current density range of $2-4\;A/dm^2$; however, the uniformity was slightly degraded as the current density increased. To study the effect of the brightener concentration, the concentration was varied from zero to 1.2 ml/L. The optimum concentration for micro-bump electroplating was found to be 0.6 ml/L based on an examination of the electroplating properties, including the roughness, yield strength and grain size.

Micro-scale copper bumps for build-up PCB were electroplated using a pulse-reverse method. The effects of the current density, pulse-reverse ratio and brightener concentration of the electroplating process were investigated and optimized for suitable performance. The electroplated micro-bumps were characterized using various analytical tools, including an optical microscope, a scanning electron microscope and an atomic force microscope. Surface analysis results showed that the electroplating uniformity was viable in a current density range of 1.4-3.0 A/$dm^2$ at a pulse-reverse ratio of 1. To investigate the brightener concentration on the electroplating properties, the current density value was fixed at 3.0 A/$dm^2$ as a dense microstructure was achieved at this current density. The brightener concentration was varied from 0.05 to 0.3 ml/L to study the effect of the concentration. The optimum concentration for micro-bump electroplating was found to be 0.05 ml/L based on the examination of the electroplating properties of the bump shape, roughness and grain size.

폐 젤리충진 통신케이블로부터 고순도 구리회수를 위하여 실리콘계 및 톨루엔계 합성 열매유와 폐식용유를 사용하여 적용성을 평가하였다. 실리콘계 오일의 경우 모든 조건에서 분리효율이 낮은 반면, 톨루엔계 오일 및 폐식용유의 경우 처리온도 및 시간을 조절함에 따라 높은 분리효율을 얻을 수 있었다. 폐식용유를 사용하는 50 kg급 밀폐형 대용량 설비를 이용하여 300 ℃에서 60 min 이상 처리할 경우 99.2% 이상의 고순도 구리와이어를 100% 회수할 수 있었다. We examined and compared the feasibility of vegetable oils with synthetic thermal conductive oils to recover highly purified copper metal from waste jelly-filled communication cables. While polydimethylsiloxane shows relatively poor separation effi-ciency under entire operating conditions, dibenzyltoluene and waste vegetable oil show the high separation efficiency if the appropriate operating temperature and time were given. By running 50 kg-class equipment with waste vegetable oils, we ob-tained 100% copper metal recovery with 99.2% purity at 300 ℃ for 60 min.

Nitrous oxide (N₂O) gas been well known as a greenhouse gas and a precursor of stratospheric ozone depletion. In this paper, the simultaneous selective catalytic reduction with CH₄ of N₂O has been studied on various catalysts. In the following experimental conditions (GHSV=10,000 h?¹, 800 ppm N₂O, 800 ppm CH₄, 2% O₂), catalytic reduction of N₂O over Pd-Fe-MOR catalyst was observed > 80% conversion above 350℃ at atmosphere pressure, Also NH₃-TPD (temperature programmed desorption) was analyzed to measure the status of acid site in the catalysts.

Ni/YSZ (Y_{2}O_{3}-stabilized ZrO_{2}), Cu/YSZ and CuO/YSZ composite powder for a cathode material in high temperature electrolysis (HTE) was synthesized by a mechanical alloying method with Ni (or Cu, CuO, Co) and YSZ powder. Microstructure of the composite for HTE reaction has been analyzed with various techniques of XRD, SEM to investigate effects of fabrication conditions. And conductivity of electrode was measured, Cu/YSZ cermet showed the higher electrical conductivity value than Ni/YSZ.

게르마늄은 주로 광섬유, 반도체 등에 사용되고 있으며, 고가의 희소금속이므로 게르마늄에 대한 회수 및 재활용 기술 개발은 각국에서 경쟁적으로 진행되고 있다. 하지만 국내에서는 게르마늄에 대한 재활용 실적이 전무하며, 전량을 수입해서 사용하는 희소금속이므로 게르마늄에 대한 재활용 기술 개발이 필수적이다. 특히, 광케이블에 사용되는 광섬유에는 1km당 약 0.54g의 게르마늄을 함유하고 있으므로, 본 연구에서는 광섬유를 게르마늄 추출 대상으로 선정하였다. 또한, 게르마늄은 1kg당 150만원의 고가 희소 금속이므로 관련 기술 개발시파급효과가 클 것으로 판단하였다. 본 개발 기술은 광섬유에서 실리카(Si)와 합금형태로 존재하는 게르마늄을 추출하기 위하여 Na 화합물과 염산을 이용한 선택적 추출을 적용하였으며, 게르마늄의 추출 효율을 알아보기 위하여 추출액에 대한 ICP 분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구에서 사용한 Na 화합물은 광섬유의 주성분인 실리카 성분을 석출시켜 제거하는 역할을 하며, 추출 용매인 염산은 질산, 황산과의 추출 효율을 비교하여 최종 추출 용매로 선정하여 실험을 진행하였다.
